Wish I’d have found these sooner
I wish I would have found out about these years ago. I put a half dozen or so of these in the bottom of any pipe and I rarely have to relight, the ‘pack’ doesn’t seem to matter as much and the tobacco smokes to ash. Finish the pipe, turn it over and give a light tap and as and stones fall out. Great product and probably very helpful to the beginning pipe smoker.

Not for my briars
They make my briar pipes to hot. They do work best with the new Nording plastic pipes.

My husband likes the stones
My husband likes the stones because it helps prevent some of the smoke entering his lungs and it improves the flavor of the tobacco.

Work great, just as advertised,
Work great, just as advertised, but there is one big problem... Some of the Keystones are too large to fit into the pipe bowl base as is. I can see this leading to a broken/cracked bowl if you're not careful. I just break them, but be careful there, too. I use a pair of hemostats to lightly crush the oversized stones, so don't pinch your fingers!

Nording Keystones, my new EDC
I am using these in all of my pipes now. With a few in the bottom of the bowl the tobacco burns to white ash all the way down. They are effective at helping to create a smoke that is cool and dry. The stones are apparently made out of volcanic mineral clay so they're 100% natural. I find that 3 to 5 pebbles will last me a full day of smoking. That's about 4 to 6 fully loaded standard to large size bowls of my inexpensive everyday smokers. The Nording Eriksen pipe system is designed specifically to accommodate the Keystones but they work great is any pipe.

Smokes dryer
Although it is early on, my pipes seem to be smoking dryer. I recommend giving the Keystones a try.

These are great to have on hand for any pipe smoker!
Great price! Definitely just buy when you get a keystone pipe! Work great for the gurgle in traditional style pipes as well!

Large supply
With this amount of stones it should last me about 2 years at least. A bowl will last me a couple of days.

Great product!
Helps keep smoke dry and protects the bottom of the bowl. I've been comparing it with Denicool and so far I think deni keeps things dryer but these are much cheaper and do a great job too.

Very good at what it's supposed to do
Not as great as the Denicool crystals but pretty darn close

Peterson system?
I see where these work with Peterson system pipes. I have 3 of them and want to try these. Will they help clean out the mess in the bottom, lol

Not bad.
I'm a wet smoker, can't help it. No matter what I do, the best case scenario is mildly wet. Dentists hate seeing me, 'cos of how much I slobber. Anyways, these work pretty good, overall. They don't affect the taste, but I think the Denicool crystals do a better job of keeping the bowl/smoke drier.

Living on the Texas gulf coast with ridiculous humidity levels can make drying tobacco a real chore at times. These stones definitely help reduce moisture when drying time is not wanted or even impossible! Are they a cure all? No. Will they help with unwanted gurgle? Definitely. And unlike some filters, draw is open and I have not noticed any change in tobacco flavor.

Works in all my pipes.
These are great! I don't have that kind of pipe but it works. I always have gurgle in my pipe. I must be sloppy I don't know, I'm new to smoking. I really enjoy my pipe more. It really did work as described.

Does ok
While these do reduce the amount of moisture that gets through, quite a bit of moisture still gets through. I'll stick primarily with paper filters.

Very interesting product!
This is a very nice product, has kept the bottom of one of my pipes bone dry. It is not as effective with some of the aromatic blends in my experience, however they are still an excellent product.

These things really work. Drop a few in the bottom of your bowl and get a clean dry smoke all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Highly recommended.

Works great.
Works great in any pipe. I have the Keystone pipe and the stones work great. You could have the wettest tobacco and using this system, not get a drop of moisture up the stem. I have used them in other pipes and they work, but you have to add quite a few to get the desired affect which reduces your bowl size for tobacco. So there's the trade off. But, I say again that these things work great.
Customer Testimonials
These are great! Add 5 or so keystones to the bottom of your pipe, load and puff away. Dries and cools the smoke and does not alter the taste of your tobacco.
MY of Westfield Center, OH
These things are brilliant! I do have an Eriksen keystone pipe, but I use these in all my briars now instead of the paper or balsa filters. They work great to soak up the moisture and give a cool, dry smoke without affecting taste or air draw. And there's no nasty soggy paper or wood to deal with. You can dry them out and keep re-using them. It'll take me forever to use up the whole bag. However, they don't really trap anything besides moisture and heat, so if you use filters for reducing tar and such, these won't do it for you. If you're just looking for something to give you a cool dry smoke, they're ideal. Highly recommended!

I have found that the keystones work great in Peterson system pipes. Just put a few in the system reservoir and they soak up the moisture, making the usually unpleasant task of cleaning a snap. The reservoir stays dry and eliminates the foul smell.
