Some of you may remember the Castleford pipes that were made for P&C by Peterson. With the change in ownership, those pipes were discontinued. So, we were thrilled when the folks behind Erin Go Bragh agreed to make a new line of Castleford pipes. These now come in a nice variety of Irish-inspired shapes and are finished in an attractive matte green appearance with a bright metal band and a black acrylic stem. These gorgeous pipes will be sure to make anyone who loves all things Irish very happy. While made every bit as well as the previous Castlefords, these are even lower-priced, so get the look you want and save!

I prefer pipes with filters but this is okay with the Nording stones. I've smoked about 3 bowls and the finish is already bubbling. This is the first time I've experienced this on a pipe.

This is my second EGB first was a lisburn, and both are exceptional pipes. Not only a conversation pieces but durable comfortable and great smoke. I've always been a Baraccini or Viking smoker, both great as well, but I will be definitely be adding more EGB to my collection. Price perfect for the quality

Unfortunately, just like with many other reviewers, mine also blistered on the first smoke. The product also differs from the website pictures in the fact that the color is much darker and, most importantly, the Irish harp is missing from the stem.
I ended up sanding off all of the finish and re-did it with a natural shellac, which breathes and doesn't bubble.
All that being said, it certainly smokes niceley, but if you're looking for a truly Irish pipe, go with a Peterson.

Husband loves the shape, and everything about this pipe but now after using it multiple times the finish at the rim is bubbling. And no, he didnt over heat it. Smokes well.

Really love this pipe. The first bowl was great it smoked really well out of the box shallow enough for a quick smoke but not too shallow to take time and enjoy the tobacco.

When I first saw the Erin Go Bragh line of smoking pipes in green I was immediately drawn to it. I chose the Castleford 80s because of its bent stem and I must confess I was a bit relunctant about the bulldog bowl shape however, once the pipe was in my hand I realized it was just what I was looking for. It has a pleasing look and feel. From the very first bowl it smoked well has a nice draw and looks and feels right. I would recommend this brand, color and shape to any pipe smoker. For me it ranks right up there with finest pipes. It IS a fine smoking pipe. Thank you.

I reviewed this pipe before and the pipe still smokes great and is well made, but the finish on the bowl started to blister during my first Skokie. I have smoked many pipes over the years and have never had this happen to the finish on a pipe, even with much less expensive pipes. I’ll keep it but the nice green finish is not so nice anymore.

I just received the Erin Go Bragh Castleford and it is a great pipe! The color is definitely Irish! Workmanship is very good, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’m smoking it right now, and it smokes great. Came in 4 days! I have the Peterson 2017 St. Patrick’s Day pipe so this is a nice addition. I think anyone would be pleased with one of these pipes.

I bought The limerick a ways back very pretty pipe with the yellow stem. This castleford I wanted for the green color, well anyway the green paint bubbled up And I had to remove it all and refinish it It's a very nice looking now. These pipes are made in Italy . Peterson genuinely is a Irish made and cost much more. Good performing pipe pleased. Mark Blake.

Draw hole was off center and the band came off after the first smoke. However, after a minor draw hole fix, (and re-glueing the band) it is a great smoker. The Castleford 80's Bulldog-Bent Rhodesian is a good hearty pipe. The finish looks like nice green marble. Great addition to my collection and should last a very long time.
