Don't fear the Dread. Actually, the name doesn't reference something to be afraid of, It's a tip of the hat to dreadlocks because of two things - it has a dread-like pigtail cap, and, it contains some rare Jamaican tobacco.
Espinosa Dread is one of the more unique cigars you'll ever try. First, it only comes in one size, a 6.0" x 56 Toro Grande, with a pigtail cap made to look like dreadlocks. But that's not where the uniqueness ends. Dread is clad in a chocolate-brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan Cuban-seed binder. The long-fillers are a combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos, along with Jamaican leaf. If you've been enjoying cigars long enough, you may remember the early Macanudos that were made in Jamaica. They were mellow cigars, but they had a floral note and mellow, sweet spice, and that's on display with Espinosa Dread. You'll notice a distinct cocoa note, roasted nuts, light fruitiness, and baking spices with a floral finish. You'll rarely find a cigar as unique as Dread.
