Didn't like it on its own, too mild for heavier smokers. However, I mixed it with the black and vanilla cavs and it's become a very good smoke. Lights easy, no tongue burn, and the three together was less than my usual CB copper with the expedited delivery

This tobacco is too heavily flavored for my taste. Since then, I went through the catalog and found the statement about Jester being very lightly flavored. I ordered the Jester, recieved it, and find it far preferable. Smokers Pride is stashed for hard times. Perhaps the flavor will fade with age.

Tobacco was OK, however, I found it to have a lot of tongue bite, I am looking for something that smokes cool, burns slow and has no tongue bite. What due you reccomend.

This tobacco is great for rolling cigarettes. It's the only one that has the right balance and strength for my cigarettes. Love it!

I've smoked Sir Walter Raleigh since the early 1970s. It's become hard to find lately so I needed an alternative in case it gets more scarce. Smoker's Pride is my first experiment with a new tobacco. There is an adjustment to a ribbon cut tobacco but it packs alright, burns even; not too fast. And it is mellower than Raleigh. However, I am a habitual smoker. I don't own a hundred-dollar pipe or smoking jacket. If you do, this tobacco probably won't suit you.

When opened you get nice buttery-nut aroma. It has a long ribbon cut and it arrived fresh with about an 18% moisture content (some drying for stuffing is necessary). The amount of twigs and lumber were not notable. However, the taste is quite "earthy" (read dirt) and leaves a tongue bite. This blend is definitely more burley than virginia. Blending 50/50 with another Virginia blend made it a more enjoyable blend but still "earthy" with a bite.

I switched from cigarettes after about three months because I was very active in sports since a pipe did not affect my wind. I have stayed loyal to tobacco's that are natural because flavored tobaccos seem to cause a pipe to gum up and in some cases cause one to cough. I prefer Smoker's Pride Mellow slightly more than Rich but I do switch among these two. Both suit my taste in a tobacco. Prior to this brand over the 57 years smoking a pipe, I smoked mostly Edgeworth and when I tried this brand, I found them to be just as good and less expensive.

So there's quite a difference between these two blends. I'm both a stuffer and a piper and bought these blends for stuffing. Smokers Pride Mellow: When opened you get nice buttery-nut aroma. It has a shag cut and arrived fresh with about a 20% moisture content. Because this is a shag, bring moisture down to 16% or so for stuffing. Lumber was almost non-existent. The taste is indeed smooth and does not have the bite. So ultimately, I give Smoker's Pride Mellow 2 Stars and Largo Gold 4 stars and likely wouldn't purchase SP Mellow again due to it's overwhelming earthy flavor.

A bland tobacco but good for mixing with a flavored tobacco. Service always accurate and fast.

Pipe tobacco, like it says on the bag. A little gem burley forward va/bur. A mindless little shag cut gem that burns good, not too fast, bordering on slow. Not strong tobacco, but, decent nic content. Smoked straight out of the bag in a cob.

I would never recommend this brand for RYO. It has a sweet, pungent smell, nowhere near a traditional pipe blend entended for RYO cigarettes. It's so sticky it will gum up your rolling machine. The sticks I did manage to make didn't smoke well at all: hard to draw and had to keep relighting. Very disappointed. Money in the trash.
