Manuel Quesada is the shepherd of the Fonseca brand, and there have been some very highly rated blends in that stellar lineup, all coming from the Dominican Republic. Quesada decided that he wanted to shake things up, so he blended a full-bodied cigar using nothing but Nicaraguan tobacco and made in the Plasencia family's Nicaraguan factory. Fonseca Nicaragua was born.
The wrapper is an extra-dark and inviting Jalapa Valley Criollo '98 Oscuro, enrobing a Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers. The flavors are bold and rich with an earthy character, accompanied by woody notes, plenty of spice and a dark sweetness that ties everything together. Best of all, Fonseca has found a way to deliver all this flavor and quality at a reasonable price!
