To make Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s Brown Twist Sliced, strong dark-fired and air-cured tobaccos are tightly twisted into a rope and sliced into thin coins. since the brown twist hasn't been cooked, the leaf retains its full strength. This is a very heady smoke with a cigarish flavor along with some smokiness, and a natural tobacco flavor.

A strong, full-flavored tobacco, and possibly my favorite straight VA.

Straight, unadulterated tobacco. As others have said it does come wet so let it dry some. I also tried it as a chew and it reminds me of Copenhagen.

If you are looking for a strong tobacco, with pleasant flavor and aroma this one can do. You can always cut it with some of your more mild tobaccos if you find it to strong.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What strength!!!! Num! Num! Num!
Let me say first of all that I am a regular smoker of Gawith & Hoggarth's stronger products; this includes Kendal Kentucky, Dark Bird's Eye, Kendal Dark and Brown Irish X. My go to is Kendal Dark which is a pleasurably smoothe, strong smoke with no bite. My evening tobacco has been Brown Irish X for quite a long time; Brown Irish X is a very stout, rich, creamy cigar-like smoke with a plentiful nicotine content. All that being said, I have never in all my years smoked anything quite as strong as Brown Twist!!! No, if you are used to stronger tobaccos you will not turn green and run for the privy, but go to fast and you may become a little shaky and short of breathe. This stuff could raise the Titanic and sinking it again in one puff! I like it... first time that I have had a nic buzz in two decades; therefore, I shall smoke it only once a week- if I build a tolerance to this where will I go? Being a ginny one must remember not to push it or it will bite a little... slow and steady puffs. Wonderfully creamy like Brown Irish X, but even stouter. This, by the way, is the same as the Happy Bogie (brown), but pre-sliced. Incidentally, if you should cut your own off the bogie for smoking, let it dry for a little while... if it has a strong ammonia odor, let it dry longer, then rehydrate.

Great Smoking Experience
My All time Favorite! Bold , Rich tobacco flavor, Very smooth and pleasant, Powerful smoke, Best Nicotine kick I've found in all the tobaccos I've smoked over the past 25 years. No bite, Superb taste, a great overall experience.

Strong and one dimensional.

This is probably my favorite pipe tobacco of all. I would definately consider myself a seasoned smoker of full bodied cigars and pipe tobaccos but this is the strongest I've had. In fact, if I don't eat before I smoke it, there's a good chance I'm going to be sick - no other cigar or pipe tobacco has done that to me in years! Flavor is fantastic, rich and robust. Just make sure you're prepared!

This is by far one of the best tobaccos, bar none that I have smoked in many years. Love it, it is hard to find a full strength, full bodied smoke, this hits the spot. When I smoked cigars, it was full all the way! Great in every respect....
