Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s Sweet Coconut Twist is a Virginia-based rope with a composition somewhat similar to, if not the same, as Brown Twist. A nicely-sweet coconut note is added that comes through noticeably at first light, but settles into the background thereafter. A hint of typical Lakeland essences is also apparent. G&H Sweet Coconut Twist has stout body and has more strength than you would usually associate with an aromatic, but it will satisfy both those who enjoy stronger blends and those who like aromatics.
I got this because I wanted to try a rope and this was the only one in stock. The tobacco is pretty strong and the coconut taste is very subdued and natural, making this a very smooth but intense smoke.

Sweet coconut twist.

I'm sure that other might enjoy this type of tobacco but it wasn't for me. I purchased it on a whim hoping it would be similar to coconut almond from another maker but it wasn't. If you like the flavor and smell of an old fashioned cigar then this is certainly a pipe tabacco for you. My pallet has grown a taste for it yet.

Cut Twice As Much!

Not as strong as I would have imagined after reading descriptions...in a good way...though it'll get the sticker peckin'. I found this to be a little sweet, creamy at the base & not due to the Coconut rub. The coconut is in fact subtle enough that this would be a great blender. My only suggestion to the potential Smoker, given the properties of this cut (very moist as compared to others), Cut Twice As Much...you'll smoke it. Great smoke...just never enough!

Very strong cigar like flavors while smoking with the coconut being subtle in a nice way. Its important not to over pack this when freshly cut and could use some drying after being cut. I haven't yet but have a hunch that it will be great for blending. To get nic strength and creamy cigar like tones I'm betting this is a winner. This was even more impressive as a dip/chew. A very luxurious flavor identical to the smell after being jarred for a week. There is nothing artificial about this tobacco, nothing diesel like when smoking or chewing. A++

I did not like this product on its own. Found it to be too strong/too much bite. When it mixed it 50/50 with Lane BCA that mellowed it out and was enjoyable. That being said, Lane BCA by itself is my favorite.
