Greg Pease is at it again with his singular take on the Virginia/Oriental genre called géométrie.
GL Pease géométrie begins with rich, toasty red Virginias and tantalizing Orientals (Basma and Izmir) that are carefully layered before pressing and cutting into a plug format. There are bready/toasty notes from the Virginia, while the Orientals add some depth of flavor with hints of earthy sourness and floral brightness. The plug allows you to prepare your tobacco in whatever way you prefer - slice, fold, and stuff, like a flake; slice and rub out into a ribbon; slice, stack, and crosscut into cubes - it's your choice.
One of the most unique blends I've ever tasted. Very different, but in a good way. Subtle, refined, and yet...somehow young and rough around the edges. The room note might not win you any friends on a subway, and the taste probably isn't going to make you want to eat it. But....there's something about this strange blend that keeps bringing me back to it over and over again. It brings something new to the palate every time. Try it, and you won't be disappointed...or maybe you will, but at least you'll have tried one of the most unique blends I can think of.
