George Rico understands what aging can do for a cigar, and it's never more apparent than with the Gran Habano Gran Reserva #3 2009.
The long-fillers, which hail from Nicaragua and Colombia, have been resting for a minimum or seven years, the same amount of time that's on the Nicaraguan binder. The cigars are swathed in an eight-year-old Habano wrapper which comes from Gran Habano's Nicaraguan farm. The 2009 in the name refers to when these cigars were rolled, so there's additional aging involved.
They exhibit an earthy, cedary character with hints of nuttiness, lively spice and a sweet finish. Despite being so rich, time has added a smoothness that results in a lush, creamy smoke that's exceptionally refined.
Because only 1200 boxes of each size were made, supplies are short, so light up now or forever hold your peace.
