Gurkha doesn't just make powerhouse cigars. They also have a number of smooth, mellower offerings, and one of my favorites is Gurkha Founder's Select.
These mellow to medium-bodied beauties are clad in a golden-hued Connecticut Shade wrapper with a satiny sheen. Underneath is a Nicaraguan binder that's spun around Nicaraguan long-fillers that are aged for 12 long years. Though Nicaraguan tobaccos are thought to be more robust, aging the leaf for more than a decade takes off any rough edges, so Gurkha Founder's Select is a very creamy cigar with notes of leather, cedar, pecan, baking spices, and a touch of pepper. When you want something smooth that's not bland or boring, this is the cigar to try.
