Hearth & Home Signature Distinguished Penguin

Hearth & Home Distinguished Penguin - the name existed before the blend. One of our employees suggested that we make a tobacco called “Distinguished Penguin”, so we took the challenge. As you might expect, this is a light/dark mixture (technically, it’s considered a Scottish blend) of Carolina and Virginia flake-cut, with Stoved Virginia, a light amount of Latakia, and a bit of unflavored toasted black Cavendish - a moderate and slightly sweet smoke with character.

Unsmokeable and dry. I had to re order twice and both times the tobacco was so dry it was crumbling into snuff powder from being in the box with itself...

My taste has changed a bit
Certainly a fine quality blend, but of late i haven't been appreciating a strong tangy bite, which this has. Of the Scottish style H&Hs, I'm liking Sunjammer these days.
Customer Testimonials
To be 100% honest I bought this because of it's name. Indeed how could any one resisted a blend named for an animal that always has his tuxedo one. This is a great smoke that reminds me of fall and winter walks back in my college days; and perhaps a memory of a lost love. Oh, those halcyon days of youth! It smokes very mild, with just enough Latakia to excite my senses a bit all while balanced out by the Cavendish and Virginia tobaccos.
Smooth, sweet, and mellow, while holding a rich latakia flavor the whole time. I like it more than Frog Morton. The shape of it makes it nice and easy to fill the bowl, too. One of my new favorites.
Nice mild English blend. Strange looking stuff though. Looks almost like cereal with raisins.
