After a protracted absence, Hearth & Home Signature Old Tartan is back due to customer requests, It's also an appropriate time for it to return with the trend toward aromatic Latakia blends.
From Russ - "When I was a kid, my father used to smoke a tobacco called Black Watch that had such a pleasant and unique aroma and tin note that I would sneak in the den when he wasn't around and I would pop the lid and just sniff it. It was a blend of mellow white Burley, a Virginia Cavendish, Latakia, and deertongue. When I started the Hearth & Home line in 2004, Old Tartan was one of my first blends since the local tobacconist that sold the original tobacco had gone out of business and many people missed the blend it emulates. Sadly, my dad never had the chance to try my homage to his tobacco, but I'm sure he would have been pleased. We decided to not use deertongue going forward as there are some questions about health concerns, but we found a company that makes a product that's identical in aroma and flavor without the component that causes concern.
If you're looking for a blend with a distinctly old-time flavor and aroma with just enough Latakia to give it depth and a bit of smokiness, then you'll want to try Hearth & Home Signature Old Tartan.
