Hearth & Home Signature Sweet & Smoky

Very nice, especially enjoyable when pared with a glass of good whiskey next to a blazing fire.

Great mixture, nice smoky flavour and aroma, the warm essence added to tobacco, is just great, i found a lil bit of butterscotch on the flavour profile, maybe the warm essence is butterscotch.

I found I'm a Latakia fan, but love my aero's as well, so the thought of Sweet Cavendish blended with the smoky latakia seemed like something I needed to try. On first light, the Cavendish pulled out front and I had to do a little searching for the latakia, but 1/3 down the bowl the latakia pulled even and they worked together nicely to the bottom. After the char light I never had to re-light, nor did I have to work the pipe to keep it lit. Very pleasant tobacco, and one I'll enjoy, but exactly as the description says, it is a lighter version of both the Cavendish and latakia. Room note was wonderful, but even though this will be in my cellar, it won't be my daily 'go to'. Can't give it a 5 star (Blackhouse is a 5 star) and certainly rates higher than a middle of the road '3'. Overall, a little disappointed, but Russ is such a master I hold him to pretty high standards, and not everything will be mind-blowing. Nice little tin of tobacco to enjoy and share with friends without giving away your cherished favorites. I'll enjoy this one, and would suggest you give it a try. Good combination and if Latakia scares you away but you know you should try it, this is the one. Very mild introduction to the leaf.
