Hearth & Home Slow-Aged First Snow

When winter approaches, many pipe smokers prefer richer blends, and Hearth & Home Slow-Aged First Snow is just such a tobacco. It begins as a broken flake made of robust Burley, zesty-sweet Virginias, and a bit of dark-fired Kentucky. The result is a deeply-flavored blend that's comfortable and satisfying. Then, the tobaccos are placed into a press and held for a month to develop the flavors and give them a more unified richness. For anyone who enjoys the taste of Burley, Hearth & Home Slow-Aged First Snow is a must-try.

Perfect each winter...
Bit quite a lot at first and was hard to keep lit. Revisited a year later and was better. Quite expensive compared to other dark fired, burley, virginias and not discernibly better tasting/smelling. Regardless, combined with the artwork and plug cut (like a lump of compost or wood), it's a fine compliment to winter. Whilst smoking, try spinning 'The First Snowfall' by Bing Crosby for the full experience.

Fantastic Product
This is my general go to blend. This tobacco smokes so smoothly and clean. I like to put first snow at the bottom of my bowl with a bit of Molto Dolce on top and I swear it tastes like a roasted marshmallow over a campfire.

Unapologetically delighted
I love this entire line!!! I must sound like a salesman lol. The dark fired Kentucky and the burly mix are fantastic. But once you pick up the slight tang of the Virginia it brings it all together. It’s a cool smooth smoky experience. In my opinion you should be adding a minimum of two to your next order. Not only is the tobacco aged but I feel like the tins I received have a bit of age on them already which to me is an astounding plus. I literally just received a shipment on Wednesday and will be ordering more post haste. Completely in love with h&h and what they’ve done here. It’s refreshing to try something that you can literally taste the time, effort and thought that went in to the process. I feel like they really nailed it on this line. Kudos to the tobacconist in charge.

To me it has a earthy flavor but seems to have a harsh bite near the bottom of the bowl. Seems to burn slow and not real hot,all in all, a good smoke.

good smoke
I had my first bowl of First Snow this morning after breakfast. Out of M.M. Cobbit (no filter) and truly enjoyed it, smooth richness. I am a fairly new pipe smoker, looking for what is pleasant to me. I will smoke it often.

First Snow
Not really a veteran of fired Kentucky, but this was sweet on first draw. Smooth, no bite. Burley & Virginia really works.

I'll get some more
Bought this bc never tried any dark fired and this is said to have a little. Burned really hot first time fresh out the tin. But after that it's been great. Now is my daily go to. Smells great in the jar. Easy smoke. No bite or harshness. Has some kind of topping that smells kinda chocolate like but doesn't really transfer to the taste like an aero. I suck at describing taste. Woody/smokey but not over bearing. Idk definitely not disappointed. Thought about buying 3 or 4 tins b4 they asked me to review.

Dark Fired Goodness
This is really a dark fired Kentucky blend mellowed by pressing. It should age nicely. No bite, even when I smoke it a bit fast. This is a good blend for a beginner to try if curious about dark fired Kentucky.

Very Enjoyable
Great smoke that makes you feel like you're around a campfire. Dry a little and enjoy with a glass of brandy or whiskey for a special treat.

Long burning Smooth and mild.
I was very pleased. I realized I had ordered pressed tobacco and tried to cancel. When it showed up, this was the first I opened. It was pure tobacco, no flavors added. Filled the pipe leaned back and enjoyed the whole bowl without a relight. Even with pausing for conversation. I will order it again and would recommend it to friends.
