Hilson Vintage pipes are made of stummels that were turned in Belgium, before the sale of the brand to the Royal Dutch factory during the eighties.
These are mostly smaller to medium-sized pipes, as was the trend at the time they were made. Because of the extensive aging of the briar, they are incredibly light and absorbent, providing a remarkable experience. Unlike the newer Hilson models, these pipes are unfiltered, which suits the American market well.

I bought a 413, and was totally floored by how gorgeous it is in person. The day it arrived, I immediately bought a 516 to go with it. The 516 was every bit as beautiful, but looks tiny by comparison. I was disappointed at first, but it's become my favorite pipe. Super light in the hand, smokes unbelievably cool, looks really sharp. The only regret I have is waiting too long to snag the 472 to add to my collection.

Vintage Walnut 413 is the one I have. Good little pipe. Fit and finish are better than expected, even with a Rossi I have. Smaller in mass than what the picture looks like, but that works. It will be a good match for my Moonshine Rhodesian for traveling and going out. I left the stinger in it, smokes fine with it. The wide stem is comfortable and not to thick after I put a bite guard on it. Bowl is of good size, drilled properly, nice draw. This one will get smoked a lot.

Awesome pipe. Removed the stinger prior to first smoke as I don't really care for them. It smokes wonderfully. Light in weight, awesome grain and the fit and finish is wonderful. Perfect size for me. So comfortable to hold. This is my favorite pipe.

Just started breaking in the Vintage Walnut 430. It's smaller than I expected but I wanted it because its shape (straight prince) is very hard to find these days. These truly are vintage pipes, mine came with a stinger.

WOW!!! This is such a great looking pipe and while not very big it is just right for me who doesn't have time to work on a huge bowl of tobacco. The weight was very light and the pipe feels very comfortable. Best of all smokes GREAT. A truly unimpeded taste comes through and it is very cool and true to the nature of the tobacco.

Bought one of them on sale the other week as my first step from the corncob world into briar pipes. It's relatively small, and the finish on it is beautiful. Still breaking it in, but so far it's an awesome pipe!

Bought two of these on a recent special - I too was expecting a larger pipe, however the workmanship on the pipes is excellent. A smaller lighter pipe is actually a welcome addition to the collection and even though not fully burnt in yet, I can tell I'm going to grab these for a quick smoke regularly! A smooth cool smoke!
