Mysteriously enough, the first Honduran Hoyo de Monterrey cigars were born of seed smuggled from Cuba in a diplomatic pouch. Today, in the uncompromising style of cigar master Estelo Padrón, Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are still made the nineteenth-century way, cured and aged in their own time by the wind and the weather as nature intended. The resulting full-bodied cigars are as deeply satisfying as they are authentically Honduran.
I have long enjoyed the strength and flavor of this cigar, especially in the mid range price. Hoyo de Monterrey often outperforms much more expensive cigars.

Smoked one a couple days after they came. A very smooth, great tasting smoke with nice flavor. From the beginning to end I enjoyed this cigar and knew I would be adding it to my line up.

The Hoyo has always been my favorite brand -- in particular the Excalibur line. This batch would get a 5 star except that the draw is much tighter than I usually find with Hoyos. P&C might consider having this identified along with strength. P&C service has always been superb.
