Jack H. Weinberger was a lawyer who retired to New Jersey and learned to make pipes in the late sixties. He paid a lot of attention to the grain of the block, and this pipe is basically a straight-grain. It has a plateaux top, has a wide and deep chamber that should yield a 1 1/2 to 2-hour smoke. Despite being fairly large, it's quite light for its size. The stem was missing, so our restorer, Dan Chlebove of Gabrieli Pipes fit a flat saddle to it that works very well. This type of stem was very popular on GBD and Barlings from the past. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind handmade pipe for a bargain price with this JHW Freehand Straight Dublin.
