John Cotton's Double Pressed Burley Sale

John Cotton's Double Pressed Burley is a fantastic choice for Burley-lovers, but also for people who may have tried unflavored Burley blends before and didn't care for them. This blend starts with superb Burley that's mixed with just enough naturally-sweet Virginia to counterbalance the earthy sourness of the Burley. Then, a bit of dark-fired leaf is added for smokiness and spice. These tobaccos are pressed and sliced into flakes. Then, these flakes are tumbled out into a chunky ribbon, allowed to breathe, put into a mold, and re-pressed into a crumble cake. This deepens and enriches the flavor while softening any sharp flavors. John Cotton's Double Pressed Burley will be an intriguing change of pace for the Burley fan and might just surprise people who think they don't care for the flue-cured leaf.

Very satisfying flavor. A more
Very satisfying flavor. A more mellow smoke than the usual burley offerings. But, still a distinct burley. Packs well in pipe and stays lit. If you like burley, or want to try it for first time, this is the one.

Good stuff!
Smooth, consistent burley flavor! Took me by surprise the first couple smokes! Burns slow . I Will keep a tin of this around!

Worth a try
Tin opening emits a pleasant and what I call molasses note. Possibly some type of liquor comes through in the background. Cut a slice, rubbed it out, and let sit for 45 minutes. Packs well and burns quite nicely. Slightly stronger than most codger blends, but is in no way overpowering. I would consider it an all day blend.

as i stated in my review of h&h burley kake, jc's burley is #2 in my lineup. it is rich & smooth - good any time but especially at night with my favorite beverage.

Thoroughly Enjoyable
Rarely do I open a tin or bag, fill, light and thoroughly enjoy a pipeful, but Double Pressed Burley hit positive on all counts. The tin moisture was just right, the crumble cake was easily manipulated to my liking, no bite but a pleasant tang from the Virginia component. A medium bodied smoke with a mild-medium taste and aroma. For me, just good ol' burley and bright enjoyment.

Dried out quick, but flavor is good.
When I first got this it had an amazing aroma and gentle body. The flavor was on point. However, it quickly dried out and I had to re-hydrate it.

The Pinnacle of Burleys
Easy to break apart and fill your pipe, as any burley tobacco should be. Lights easy and just goes. The taste is cocoa and nuttiness, perfect with coffee or some kind of chocolate beverage. Nothing harsh about it and it’ll leave you pleasantly satisfied. Deep burley taste that doesn’t quit. If you’re a burley lover, or just curious, this is one you owe yourself to try.

I don't smoke aromatics because
I don't smoke aromatics because of the tongue bite, so this tobacco is right down my alley. I enjoy it very much as well as the escudo navy blend. Both very fine tobacco in my estimation.

John Cotton’s Double Pressed Burley
The smoke is real smooth and satisfying. The tin notes are fruits and bread , just that right smoke and flavor.

Exceedingly compact pressed tobacco
Not ready-rubbed at all, so it takes a little work to charge a pipe. It smoked cool and well but was quite strong for as Burley. All in all not my cup of tea, but certainly a worthy tobacco.
