This is one time that it's good to see Red.
I love big, bold, brassy cigars, like the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970, and I've consumed mass quantities of them in the last twelve years, but sometimes you need something a bit more understated. Joya de Nicaragua understands, so you can get a kinder, gentler version of JDN with the new Joya Red.
By using similar fillers, but from lower on the plant, the core flavors are akin to Red's brawny brother, but without the major wallop of spice. A golden-brown Nicaraguan Habano wrapper holds together the long-fillers which hail from Nicaragua's most well-known tobacco regions - Jalapa, Condega and Esteli. This is a medium-bodied gem with notes of coffee, roasted nuts, leather and a bit of pepper. When a powerhouse is too much, you can still get your Joya fix with Red.
