Here's a real find. Kaywoodie made gourd calabashes from the thirties until 1970, so, at minimum this pipe is 48 years old, but in great shape. There are no tooth marks on the stem, which is understandable since this is a pipe that needs to be held in the hand. This is a large calabash, and the gourd shows no darkening, so it must have been smoked very little. The cap is clean except for one or two tiny spots, and has a nice patina starting. The gourd is still vary glossy, and this pipe is built for the long haul due to the metal mortise and the traditional screw-in Kaywoodie stem with integral "stinger". There aren't a lot of these out there anymore, so grab this one quickly because it won't be around long.
