Kentucky Select Smooth

I can smoke it all day and enjoy every bowlfull. it could have just a bit more flavor.

last time I will buy this the smell of the tobacco and the room presence is overwhelming. This is my opinion, others may like it. The tobacco is mild in strength.

Having been a pipe smoker for over 40 years, I am quite familiar with every aspect of tobacco production, storing, along with pipe making, and handling. I've even carved many of my own pipes over the years. That being said, the Kentucky Select is a very good blend of Latakia and domestic which yields a very cool smoke. What is unfortunate is that the tobacco was sold, and delivered quite "dry". While dryness of tobacco is far more critical for cigars, due to pealing and shredding. Dry tobacco is not treating the tobacco manufacturer fairly. When the manufacturer went to so much trouble to produce the tobacco in the first place. Furthermore, it's not really fair to the buyer. For dry tobacco 'generally' will have a faster burn time. Smoke hotter in the bowl. And potentially lose a certain amount of the curing that was done to the tobacco. It doesn't matter whether it is a lower priced "value' blend of tobacco, or a higher priced, what I call 'designer' blend of tobacco. If the quality of the tobacco is compromised, then the smoker, and/or buyer, loses out on the real potential of the tobacco. properly regulated moisture controlled tobacco, will not only burn longer in the bow. While retaining most of the curing done to the tobacco. But it will also burn cooler in the tobacco. Of course there are ways to bring back dry tobacco. Such as humidifiers in the bag, or humidor. Also, placing the tobacco in the vegetable bin in the refrigerator can moisture loss to the tobacco. I would recommend that since the tobacco manufacturer has gone to so much trouble blending, and curing the tobacco, that it should be stored correctly, just as cigars are stored, where the moisture loss can be more controlled. Selling dry tobacco is simply not fair to either the manufacturer or the pipe smoker. What I can say, to reiterate, is that Kentucky Select is a very good blend of tobacco. The smoke is quite enjoyable to the pallette, and has a very distinctive and yet, pleasing aroma.

Update still smoke Kentucky select smooth but now with zen es ( extra smooth ) tubes - smooth and mild smoke best so far kevin b

Always clean. A fast burn, dried flake, smooth. I am a novice and sometimes like a fast smoke bowl. Not a lot of after burn notes to mention but stick your nose in the bag and breath of the fields of Kentucky!

Very smooth and mild with zig zag tubes 2nd pound i have bought and so far my favorite and only one i smoke forget Marlboro lights after a week and tried one later and would rather have Kentucky select / tryed ohm,bugler,a few others but I'm staying with this one!!!

Too much flavoring. I'm going to try the kentucky gold natural next.

Good tobacco. I'm using it for RYO. If it could be fine cut would be great.
