La Aurora is the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, so they probably know more about Dominican tobacco than anyone else. There's a special way of fermenting and processing tobacco down there, usually reserved for pipe tobacco, called Andullo. They bundle tobacco and put it in the earth to slowly ferment. The result is a bold and somewhat sweet tobacco with a good amount of strength. La Aurora ADN Dominicano (DNA) are cigars that are made using this tobacco to create something very different.
The wrapper is a Dominican Cibao Valley capa that's the color of milk chocolate. Underneath that is a genuine African Cameroon binder; a leaf known for a light sweetness and mellow spiciness. The core of the cigar is made of long-fillers from Pennsylvania and Nicaragua along with a full leaf of Dominican Andullo. The result is a chocolatey cigar with a nice backbone of spice, a distinctly woody character, and a mellow sweetness throughout. Full-bodied and hearty, La Aurora ADN Dominicano (DNA) has a lot going on, and it's something you really should experience.
