La Colmena (the beehive) by Warped, hearkens back to a Cuban tradition. Certain rollers would create their own cigar and they would be the only ones to make them. These unbanded cigars would maintain a high level of consistency because they would only be rolled by one person.
La Colmena actually uses two, but only two, torcedors, and they're limited to making 100 cigars a day. The wrapper for this singular blend is a golden Ecuadorian Deflorada Habano, surrounding two Ecuadorian binders and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. Another Cuban tradition, the pigtail cap, is featured. The flavor profile is somewhat sweet and spicy, with a pleasant finish. This boutique entry is too good to pass up.
