Once upon a time, the Candela leaf was the preferred wrapper of Americans. The leaf was so popular in fact, that it was known as American Market Selection. Modern enthusiasts have all but forgotten about about the candela, but La Palina is looking to change that with one of its newest selections - Fuego Verde.
Literally translated to “green fire”, this cigar may look a bit strange - but the flavor is unique and totally worth revisiting. The candela wrapper is a light shade of green with a slight oily sheen. The cigar’s core is composed of Nicaraguan long-fillers and a Honduran binder. There is definitely some natural sweetness with hints of spice. Mellow, smooth, and balanced, this cigar may not be what you’re used to, but you will immediately fall in love with its unique nuances.
