Nice VaPe
My first time trying a VaPe. Wow! I really liked it. And like someone else said, it's sweet, with a touch of spice. I'm glad I tried it.

Updated Review
I had previously rated as "3", but, with the help of some Perique, I've rated this a "4"... I like Orlik Golden Sliced, and with the Perique added to the 125th, I've got similar citrus/grassy taste like OGS. Not a waste of money, just needed a little help. NOTE: By the way, Perique and/or Latakia can fix nearly anything, always keep a little on-hand, just for instances like this, and little goes a long ways.

My go to Virginia
Love to mix it. The ribbon is nice. And the periuiqe adds some good spice. Top rates.

Not for me
Probably would've rated a (5 star) if I wasn't such a big Latakia/English fan....None the less, it's a mild smoke, and the taste doesn't come through too much.....Would be a good choice for a new smoker, not harsh, pleasant room-note.....Just not for me, so, I only gave (3 stars)....

Smooth, Mild Smoke
This is a lovely VaPer, more hay than grass, and no citrus notes that I can detect. Works especially well in a cob, but I do prefer a touch of dark fired in the mix, in the manner of MM's Country Gentleman.

Mellow smoke
Great everyday smoke in my opinion that's very mild with a slight bite

Great smoke.
This stuff is great. Sweet with a touch of spice, just what you want from a VaPer.

A milder version of the Lane 1-Q.
A milder version of the Lane 1-Q. Smooth, pleasant, very mild, a hint of sweet finish.

Great Smoke!
While I'm a lover of Latakia, Lane 125th Anniversary smokes and tastes great. Right cut and moisture content. packs easy. I've got 2 extra tines to lay back and mature. Already one of my favorites!

A Fine Intro to VaPer
This, my first foray into the land of VaPer, was a pleasant surprise. Mellow with a subtle Perique spiciness that really rounds out the blend. Another plus is that the tobaccos are ribbon and what I call loose cut; not flake, cake, medallion, etc., all of which require a bit of preparation before smoking (lazy me). More experienced VaPer pipers may find this tame, but the simple, straight-forward 'presentation' here is worthy of your attention.

VaPer Newbie Likes This!
After many years of pipe smoking, this is my first (!) foray into the VaPer world of tobacco, and I'm impressed with this one. As another reviewer has commented, this blend grows on you after a couple of bowlfuls. Also, I agree with Henry R.: a bit of aging/cellaring will certainly enhance this blend, which I found rather 'peppy' out of the tin. But that isn't a negative characteristic (now that I'm accustomed to it), and I will definitely stock up.

Good and Delightful, but needs a little aging
This Latest offering from Lane I found to be delightful. The Virginia and Perique seemed to be matched well. Good flavor ,but it needs a little age on it to be its best, which explains its four star rating. I have purchased four more tins to cellar and I look forward to tasting it with a little more aging. I will stock up.

Pipes & Pipe Tobacco
Always satisfied with the products I received. And the shipping time is as good as it gets. Even BO are sent prompt when available. Will keep doing business with P&C.

Very Virginia
I have to admit, that I’m not coming into this review blind. I ordered a tin of this tobacco for my friend Val, and though at first he was not impressed, he admitted that the tobacco grows on you. As a connoisseur of fine Va/Pers, I take his opinion very seriously, so I knew not to expect much from the first pipe or two. So I crack open the can to be greeted with that grassy Virginia smell and a tobacco that is a bright gold colour, ever so casually speckled with dark Perique; mouthwatering. I load up a pipe, a vintage gourd calabash, that I also have to thank Val for, and prepared to be blown away (not really, I was prepared to be not bitterly disappointed; I already had warning from Val that this tobacco takes a few.) And, to be honest, I was slightly impressed! The Perique in this blend is subtle, very subtle; the tobacco is almost overwhelmed with Virginias. Those sweet, grassy Virginias hit you right off, like a cigarette, but then, almost as a surprise, you get a burst of spice from the understated Perique. Again, I have to admit, I smoked a few bowls full of this, checking out the elusive nuances of the blend before coming to this review and I have to say, Val was right, the tobacco grows on you the more you smoke it. Unfortunately for me, I have reached the bottom of the tin, and I will definitely be ordering more; I have two tins aging, but I definitely want to see how well this tobacco ages. Well, this review is short, sweet, and to the point. It’s a good tobacco, worthy as an anniversary blend, and if you like Va/Pers, I think you’ll like this one; even if you don’t like Va/Pers, you just might like this one.
Customer Testimonials
It is a natural (non-aromatic) blend with a very smooth, mild, and delicate vegetable-like taste, with traces of a nut flavor. No sharp, piquant or "hot" Virginia characteristics here. There are some herbal flavors to play with -- almost like an Oriental blend. By and large it is just an honest tobacco flavor with good smoke volume and mouth feel. The Perique is a minor player in this soft smoke.
