I'm a very heavy pipe smoker so most tobaccos that I chose are intended to be used as all day smokes. For the past few years Lane 1-Q has been the tobacco that has never let me down. Due to my love for 1-Q, I decided recently to try other blends offered by Lane as a way to diversify. HS-3 was not nearly as pleasurable as the 1-Q. I found it seemed to burn a bit hot and yielded some tongue bite as well as an offensive aftertaste. The room note was nice and not overpowering. However, room note means very little if the smoking experience is lacking. It wasn't so bad that I discarded the tobacco I purchased, instead I smoke it less frequently. As an occasional smoke it's okay, as a daily smoke it hurts.

I have been buying this product for years because it is my favorite, and the bulk price is excellent. Ordering by phone is always easy and the customer service people are friendly and competent. Unbelievably fast shipment and receipt.

Excellent mild every day tobacco. This is my easy gentle smoke, and it smells like cookies baking in the oven. Everyone loves the aroma, and I love the soft vanilla Cavendish taste.

Yes I recently purchased another blend in the bulk Department. I found it to be much like the other tobacco's offered in the mild aromatic blends. Nothing terribly special unique or thought-provoking comes to mind in regard to my experience from smoking the hs3. Firstly, this is my opinion guided by my preference. This tastes terrible. I smoke aromatics and this isn't, so thats why I can'tgive a good, unbiased review. But it's definitely not for the aromatic smokers.

I found HS-3 over 20 years ago when I went back to the pipe. It was smooth, even though I started back with a new pipe. I still use it and a lot of good remarks on the aroma from those around me.

This and the MV 1000 are my 2 favorite blends from Lane. I find this one to be very similar to 1Q. The top note is a little lighter and it has a little less black cavendish in it. Also this one is always a lot dryer than the 1Q. 1Q shows up way to moist everytime, all that moisture = weight after it is dried to a proper smoking level. I like to mix the HS3 & mv1000, 50/50...makes it just right for me.

Like the title of a book you cannot tell what Lane HS-3 is until you've tried it. And the way to try it is to smoke something else you might like first, and then pull out the HS-3. Using this method myself I have uncovered so many fine tasting tobaccos. But again I am tasting the Best Sellers and am finding that Lane Ltd has more home run hitters than any other brand. This tobacco could easily be your all time favorite.

I appreciate the consistent freshness and mellow taste. I have been smoking op it for decades. I occasionally have tried other blends but always come back. It makes my mancave garage smell so good that my neighbors even enjoy it when the garage door is slightly open. I give your mailed catalogs to friends who are pile and cigar guys.

An excellent all-day tobacco. I live on a lake in a wooded area of rural Cumberland County, Tennessee. I light up to a cool, pleasant smoke and enjoy my work. Never bites. Been smoking this blend exclusively for many years. Never disappoints.
