W.O. Larsen Kit

This review has three parts. 1) The 2015 Bent Panel is fantastic! For an Italian, machine-made pipe, it's light years beyond cheaply manufactured "drug store" pipes. I still don't know whether the silver ferrule is sterling silver or a base metal. There is no .925 stamp to settle the question. The online product description says, "silver-like;" whereas, the enclosed specification card says, "sterling silver." The shape consists of four panels; the shank juts from a rounded side. Plenty of straight and bird's eye grain shows clearly through the dark brown finish. Putty fillers are undetectable. The bowl becomes somewhat hot to the touch the more the ember moves down. The chamber depth is adequate: the duration of smoking is 45-60 minutes. 2) I received the Old Fashioned mixture. Typically, with Danish blends, it smokes mildly. It tastes pleasantly, although I expected more sweetness. 3) The compact reamer/pick/tamper are tremendous because of their functionality and aesthetics (two-tone metals). All three components fit nicely together with "L. O. Larsen" stamped smartly on the barreled housing.
