This is one of my favorite blends. I can’t help but hold it up to my nose every time I open it. To me it reminds me of a freshly mowed hay field. The mixture is uniform through out the smoke and it burns smooth. I usually have with my morning coffee.

Not a dramatic Balkan blend, but a very pleasant smoke. Pleasant room note. The latakia is there, but does not overpower the mixture. Enjoyed my first tin, and now ordering another. Well chosen blend of Virginia, burley, with a dose of Latakia and Oriental.

Slightly Deceptive Title, (but a good blend anyway!)

This is a great mild pipe tobacco mixture from Mac B's. The name of the blend is a little deceptive I think but its still very good! When I think "Balkan" I think of a rich, bold smoke with an incense-like character created by the interplay of Cyprus Latakia and Macedonian Orientals. This doesn't really deliver that. It is however, very enjoyable to smoke especially when a mild, mellow smoke is desired. The Latakia is THERE for sure but quite subdued. No particular constituent tobacco really "jumps out." Its just a nice easy-smoking mild mixture with that delightful Mac Baren casing which is distinct I find, to their products.

Best of the strong smoke tobacco I have had by far. Mac Baren is elite in general but if you’re looking for pure strength in a smoke it’s in the Balkan Blend.
