This is a true classic as countless pipesters have noted before. It was cheifly on these numerous rave reviews that I tried this bledn many years ago. It has never been part of my regular rotation simply because I would run out and go long spells between orders. So, I remedied this by ordering a full pound of Mixture Flake. Mac Baren does such a nice job of packaging the flake in gold leaf, then a sealed plastic bag, all in a nice MacBaren cardboard box. Perfect! It is a high quality VA flake with a very light essence of some type with compliments it extremely well. I certainly hope this will be around for another 50+ years! Highly recommended. 5 stars *****!

I have been hooked on the Mac Baren Scottish Mixture since 1974. It is a blend which I find pleasant with a "room note" most people find to be enjoyable. The Scottish is the same as the Flake only rubbed out. The Mixture Flake stays fresh all the way through the pound. It smokes longer in the pipe with little residual moisture.
