Mac Baren Modern Virginia Flake Cut is a different approach to a Virginia flake. Bright and darker Virginias are combined with a black Cavendish which is made from Virginia as well. A small amount of Burley is added to help keep the tobacco cool and to mellow the sweetness.
The tobaccos are pressed for a minimum of thirty days after which they're sliced into flakes. The tins are packed by hand to maintain the integrity of the slices.
A pleasant fruit top dressing is applied to Modern Virginia Flake Cut in an amount that's just enough to be noticeable, and to enhance the flavor of the tobacco while allowing the blend to shine through.
Mac baren tobacco blends are always top quality however everybody taste is different hence the different ratings. This one has some sort of sweet casing to it but it does not mask the flavor of the tobacco. Burns well with minimal dry time and can be rubbed or fold and stuffed although the latter is tricky. Slow smoking is very important with all tobaccos but with macbaren its a must. Room note is not going to win any prizes. Its not the cheapest blend either.

I wrote a bad review on this that did not seem to make it into the reviews.
I have since tried it in other pipes and like it quite a bit.
