Ash is known for three things- durability, light color and distinctive grain. MacQueen makes a whole series of wooden stemmed churchwardens and semi-churchwardens with this attractive and hardy wood. Now I know why it's so hard to find a good baseball bat anymore.

Well done, for not a lot.
A decent long stem pipe with an old-school kind of feel. The pipe and stem become well stuck together with heat and humidity, and the pipe feels lighter than one would initially think, but for the money spent its a fine smoker with a pleasant draw.

The Prospector
I love my Prospector! I use it as my "porch pipe", and it always delivers a cool, dry smoke. I think it is easy to clean and maintain, the bowl never gets hot, and the flavor (after only 2-3 bowl break-in) is outstanding. I highly recommend this pipe. I also had the Ranger, but the bit was a bit too large for my liking; although, it smoked well also. The value of these pipes is unbelievable.
Customer Testimonials
I ordered the Prospector. Visually, the pipe is beautiful, very rustic look which I like. Came pre-carbonized which I don't mind either. I consider myself an aggressive smoker yet I was surprised by how cool the bowl was for not being briar. The smoke it delivers is very cool and dry. Great for relaxing or if you have a blend that tends to smoke a little hot.

I only smoked the Mistral once. It's a beautiful pipe. The stem is easily removed, it provides a cool smoke, and the bowl is thickly layered and stays cool if smoked conservatively. The only problem I have with the pipe is the bowl size. The most you'll get out of it is around 30-45 minutes. 2.5/4 stars

I have three MacQueen pipes now, the "White Wizard", the "Dragon's Agg" and the "Goblet Pipe" (and yes, Dragon's "AGG" is spelled correctly, my keyboard just doesn't have the two little dots to put over the A). These are fantastic smoking pipes, although I did put end caps on to avoid teeth marks. I ordered the stand for the White Wizard to display it as it is as makes a wonderful conversation piece; and it looks even better in ones hand than it does in the photo. These pipes are well worth the money and easy to break-in. I enjoy smoking the Churchwarden pipes and these are my favorite. The biggest problem with them is choosing which one I want to smoke. I will definitely be adding more to my collection.

Just purchased my 2nd MacQueen pipe, first one being the cherry wood Ranger that I was well pleased with but developed 2 slight cracks in the stem causing a leak preventing a solid smoke which motivated me to get another pipe, the Seafarer ! And to say the least I am impressed, the weight is solid and fits well in the hand, the bowl and stem are well made and it smokes great, I am now a fan of ash wood, fellow pipe smokers if you haven't smoked from an all wood pipe you are missing out, sure I have a traditional plastic stem pipe I keep in my car for smoking but cant wait to return home for the warmth and relaxation of my MacQueens
