I’m not a huge aromatic smoker. That being said, this pipe weed is amazing! Cocoa and coconut it tobacco form? And it’s not cloying or goopy? Yes! This stuff is just about perfect. Get it, you won’t be sorry.

Very nice tin aroma. Chocolate and tobacco. Smokes cool and sweet. Natural cocoa from the burley is enhanced with the topping.

I smoked some of the match and some original Hines Mixture back-to-back reversing the order for a couple of days. Net result: I think the Match version contains better tobaccos but is more heavily sauced than the original. I'll try letting it dry out a bit before smoking the next bowl. A fine replacement for a classic.

I really enjoy this blend I have ordered it twice and will be getting more.

This stuff is "bliss" in a pipe, never had the original, but wow, "German chocolate cake!" I can smell it in the bag all over my house.......love this stuff!!!!!

Wasn't sure what this would be like, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The coconut and tobacco aroma actually works quite well. Very distinct, but be aware the aroma can end up being slightly cloying. Still, it's very pleasant, and a good quality tobacco. Can't say it will be a regular for me, but I will be buying again.

This stuff is delicious! The smell and taste are like a dark fudge cake type thing..........if there is such a thing lol! I will be buying a lot more of this stuff. This is an all day type of aromatic, that you can smoke and not think twice about it. I would love to compare it to the original, I heard the original had a bit more coconut flavor (which I dont get at all), but I do taste some kind of a big chocolate aroma that is OUTSTANDING!!! This stuff reall takes the "cake" lol! Try it, im sure you will love it!

I never had the pleasure of trying the original, but certainly the pleasure of this Match Hines mixture...and, I'm glad I did. This has a pleasing cocoa pouch note, that translates into a well behaved, and room-pleasing smoke. It's not a cloying or overpowering chocolate flavor, but subtle. And, while the tobacco flavor is somewhat sublimated, it still peeks through steadily. There's a hint of vanilla, but I don't find the coconut that has been mentioned elsewhere. This is a very pleasing mixture that should satisfy aro as well as non-aro smokers. No bite, although it will require drying before smoking. Little or no nicotine. Good room note. Recommended.

I took a shot at trying this match to see if I would like it and have to say that I did. It had a very nice smell upon opening the bag and smoking it was very mild with notes of coco with no bit at all making it a tobacco that one could smoke all day long. I enjoyed this blend and will buy more of it to keep in my rotation.

I read how P and C described this and thought I need to try this one.Im very glad I did,,this is a very nice light blend.This would be very good for someone just wanting to try a flav blend or new to pipes.I wish it had a tad more coconut tho.This is 1 you can smoke anytime of the day and anywhere,,I doubt if anyone will give you any complaints on the room note and aroma.This is a great blend for the low $$.I will be ordering more soon.

Hines Mixture was a fantastic aromatic created by Larry Hines for House of Windsor back in the very early 2000s. Sadly, when House of Windsor folded, Hines Mixture was also gone. That is, until the geniuses at Sutliff created their Hines MATCH. They hit it dead on. Just a great tobacco that they brought back from the grave!

I have never smoked the original mixture, so I can not compare it. This is not bad. I could taste a bit of coconut in it. This blend is not for me, but certainly worth a try.
