Nutty Hazel was created to replace Lane's Hazelnut after it was discontinued, but it has its own merits. This blend of Burley, Virginia and black Cavendish is smooth and creamy with a nutty-sweet flavor.

McClelland Avenue Blend Nutty Hazel
Good stuff. Tobacco and wine reviews are very subjective. No two people will have the same experience. That's why I seldom give my opinion on either. However, there are some of both that deserve praise.and others complete ridicule. I prefer an American burley tobacco. I also like sherry in any form it comes in. I also like straight rye whiskey and bourbon. The word "blend" means that whatever it is, the blend is intended to be meant as just that. You can not pick out the individual parts because it just tastes like a blend of all the components. There are some tobaccos that are a step above all the rest. The professional blenders act like they know what they are doing and we will taste their products and either have a good experience or not. Peter Stokkebey does some wonderful things to burley. They are the best I have found other than my long time favorite, Prince Albert. The remainder of them are utter failures. That includes the Match blends by Suttlif. My favorite McClelland tobaccos are The Frog Morton blends. And now, this one also.

Nutty hazel is light, aromatic. Like just plain nut better.

Great in a nice Peterson, not so in a cheap cobber. Not the tobacco's fault.

Wonderful aroma, but too subtle taste
I don't like to give this a mediocre review, but the taste was barely noticeable. The aroma, on the other hand was very pleasant to those around me. Also, it gave a pleasant addition to the scent in my office at home.

Maybe I wasn't so nutty
I ordered a small bit of this aromatic to try and was quite surprised it was not soggy with sugary stuff and paced really well in a med/large bowl. The tobacco lit easily and didn't require much work to keep it lit either. The flavor was quite nice..not something that would remind you of eating pounds of marzipan but much more subtle..more like a light flavored coffee creamer that doesn't overpower your coffee and destroy why you drink coffee in the first place.I will keep this on hand when I go and have to around people who would never enjoy the smell of Frog Morton or any other lat blends..or even for a pleasant change of pace

nutty hazel
Smells great in the bag. Nice cut, slow even burn, few relights. Best aroma if smoked slow. No bite. Medium body.
