|Room Note||5 - Intensive|
Perique only comes from one place - St. James Parish in Louisiana. The tobaccos are air-cured and then layered in barrels and put under a tremendous amount of pressure, bursting the cell walls and releasing their moisture. Fermentation takes place, and the process is repeated another three times until the tobacco is dark brown. The flavor is deep and fruity but with a peppery undercurrent that adds body and depth to any blend - a little bit goes a long way.
