Dominican Glory Maduro is unlike any other tobacco you've tried. Matured, tangy red flue-cured leaf is combined with lemon virginia that has been stoved black. To this combinaton, McClelland adds Dominican maduro cigar leaf, and then the mixture is pressed into cakes for further maturation and the marrying of the flavors. The flakes allow for a variety of preparations, and the rich taste and creaminess is sublime.
It starts with the essence of the Virginia leaf burning cool without producing much smoke. After half a bowl, you will probably have already started sensing the cigar leaf sneaking on you. By the end of it, both aromas will blend harmoniously leaving a subtle fragrance, unlike a full cigar that could shock the air out of a room.

A cigar blend for pipe in which the cigar character doesn't come through hardly at all. That's not to say it's bad. It has a hefty level of that McClelland ketchup/vinegar character from fermentation. It's tangy, semi sweet and milder than other MC matured virginias due to the air-cured cigar leaf of coarse.It also burns a bit easier than there other thick flake cut blends.This is a much superior choice over the other cigar blend for pipe in my opinion. I seemed to appreciate this blend for it's classic McClelland traits when it suit me.

I have tried hundreds of pipe tobaccos over the past 45 years but none have impressed me as much as this blend! It is mild yet very flavorfull.Normally I enjoy a latakia-based mixture, which this is NOT. Nor is it a sweet, aromatic blend. It is a very enjoyable change!

This is a good, non-aromatic tobacco. You can taste the maduro cigar leaf in the mix, and the room note is more on the mild side as pipe tobaccos go. It burns clean, and I didn't get any tongue bite from any of the pipes I've smoked it in. No ghosting of flavor after finishing a bowl and then switching to another tobacco the next day. I'll be getting it again.
