Frog Morton is one of McClelland's most popular Latakia-based blends, and its singular composition sets it apart from the competition. Named for the works of JRR Tolkien, Frog Morton is a village in the Eastfarthing of the shire, and at its heart, the star of the show is dark, rich, and smoky Cyprian Latakia. The Frog Morton tobacco blend also stays away from the usual addition of Orientals and is completed simply with McClelland's fine Virginias, but what makes Frog Morton pipe tobacco so different is a subtle, but complementary top note that ties everything together harmoniously. This unique blend took four years to perfect, and is designed to smoke in quiet serenity; this tobacco is well worth a try.
Wonderful relaxing smoke cant wait to try the other frog morton blends.
Love this and will be ordering more!!!
What I started with and keep coming back to, and why I've found more traditional english blends I like... Just doesn't have the rounded taste this does. If you Latakia and haven't tried it, you really should. A great all day English with a light sweet after taste. Great tin art which doesn't hurt IMO.
Frog on a Log. Great for those trying to dip their toe into the English waters. Sweet and smoky, pleasant aroma, and I swear it almost has the hint of a bubblegum taste to it. Very nice.
Such a great blend, good even charring and a pleasant smell. Just what I like in a during the day smoke. Will be buying again.
what can i say smokey and enjoyable just sit back and relax masterful like the smoke that is smooth if you like this mock up of tobaccos
This, in my opinion, is an all day latakia blend. A simple 'black dress' smoke that I always want around. Starts with a mild but satisfying flavor. It seems to get thin around the middle of the bowl but comes back all of the way to the bottom. Will I still want diversity in my blends? Yes. But this is on my top three as a deserted island blend.
Delicious Smokey and slightly sweet English blend. The type of aromatic that has English taste but can be smoked in mixed company. Very dark blend, not too moist out of the tin and what an aroma! The 100 gram tin price is quite a deal too. I give the nod to the whiskey stave version of this blend (Morton's Cellar) but this comes awfully close to that blend as far as stars but the original FM smokes cooler since it does not have the whiskey addition.
I love this stuff. I can smoke it all day and never get a tongue burn out of it. Just satisfying right down to the last ash. Normally I'm a Virginia man but, this has got me liking English blends. McClellands is top notch A1 sooper Deelux !
I favor stronger English blends so this does not exactly scratch my itch but the flavor (however mild) is well balanced and spot on. I always keep some on hand for when I feel in the mood for something light. English 101 (the tobacco not the language) for Aromatic smokers. A cool, easy smoke. Never bites. Love the tin too!
Frog Morton blends by McClelland are highly recommended. They are in fact a great place to start even for those just getting into the art because they are not a harsh or overpowering smoke but rich in flavour.
When I was in college in the early 60's, I smoked Balkan Sobrani, which no longer exists. I took up pipe smoking in my mid-60's and started smoking Presbyterian Mixture. When I tried Frog Morton, I discovered much more flavor and have made it my everyday smoke.
