McClelland Grand Orientals - Yenidje Supreme

As a Turkish tobacco fan, nothing compares to the Balkan Sobranie of yesteryear, but the Yenidje Supreme comes close, did not disappoint! Hihly recommended!!

Just got a tin of this from a friend. First time I have smoked or even,heard of this. Ribbon cut with a nice tin aroma. It has a rather nice floral, herbal, fruity taste and no, it is not from a casing. Naturally sweet with a high nicotine content so I suggest smoking it slowly or you might regret it. Definitely For a seasoned pipe smoker and not for a newbie. No discernable tongue bite and I guess you would classify this as an aromatic. Very enjoyable and complex. While my palette is not that sophisticated, I did sense the presence of a little perique. Highly recommended.

This varietal is a pure example of great Tobacco simplicity. It's not meant to be complex, at least I don't think so. Turkish has always been a popular standby in the tobacco world and I see why now. It's similar to a light VA, smokes easy and burns well. Straight forward, no nonsense approach to pipe smoking. I like this one. Cheers,,,!!!

Delicious and subtle upon first being opened. You could really taste the Yenidje, it was easy to pick out, combined with the the sweet Virginias. I would have initially given it four stars. As time went on it lost something fundamental, becoming one dimensional and cloyingly sweet. Would not buy again, and I am a big fan of McClelland. If you are looking for something with lots of Orientals but that is sophisticated and mellow try Bombay Court.
