McClelland No. 2010 Classic Virginia

No. 2010 Classic Virginia is aptly named, and this has become a standard-bearer for those who enjoy a Virginia flake but hate the high cost of tins. Flue-cured tobaccos from yellow to light red are combined and pressed to develop the natural flavor of the leaf. It's then sliced for easy preparation. It's great right out of the pouch and becomes sublime with age.

Good stuff. Thick, chunky flakes
Good stuff. Thick, chunky flakes of slightly sweet Virginia goodness. Would recommend.

McCelland No. 2010
2010 Classic Virginia is a great smoke. I enjoy a flavorful, naturally sweet, non aromatic tobacco, and 2010 definitely fills the bill. One of my top two all time favorites.

Best McClellend Virginia
2010 is the best Virginia (only Virginia) tobacco. It's hearty and tasty; not too light and not too heavy. My usual blend is Mc's Oriental #1 and I smoke this as a break from oriental "spice".

McClelland No. 2010 Fail
Flavor and aroma were okay, but very hard to keep lit. Not worth the hassle, will not purchase again.

Well done straight Virginia flake
I trust and love McClelland's bulk flakes. They are always enjoyable and their #2015 is always in one one of my jars. I tried #2010 as a possible alternative to an Orlik GS or Erinmore flake and enjoyed it. It won't make my regular rotation, but it's yet another solid, clean Virginia flake from them. As others have said, you should rub it out to get the best burn from it. It ships in broken flake form already, which is convenient for that, and I had bad luck trying to fold-and-stuff the few intact flakes I got. Taste-wise it needs to be sipped to avoid its getting too hot. If you are patient, you'll get a long-burning grassy-tart companion. I'll definitely circle back to this one.

The name is accurate
This is a very nice, high-quality, straight Virginia tobacco blend. It has all the McClelleand signature style and quality -- tangy, slightly sweet, earthy, etc. I think it smokes great right away, but it seriously improves with some aging.

Aptly Named
This tobacco embodies everything one would expect from a VA. For it's price, you would be crazy to not cellar at least a few ounces to enjoy in five years and beyond. But it's also an excellent smoke right out of the bulk bag (give or take a couple of days for drying). It's easy to rub out and is a great tobacco to bring out for the novice pipe smoker who needs to be weaned off of the heavily cased aromatics.

McClelland 2010 Classic Virginia
I have smoked several pounds of this tobacco the last couple of years. A few months ago I found some McClelland 5115 Old World Classic Cake that I jarred up several years ago in my cellar. The 5115 is a little too zesty by itself for me, but, wanting to use it up I mixed it 3/parts 2010 with 1/part 5115. The 2010 mellows out the 5115 and the 5115 gives the 2010 a little boost in flavor. This has been my go to smoke for the last several months now and gives me a nice full virginia smoke. mel

McClelland's #2010, a classic
found this a couple of years ago. while it's not my favorite VA it's in the top five. it's in my rotation for good I'm sure.
Customer Testimonials
This is just an excellent virginia flake with all its risks and rewards. If you are experienced with straight virginia tobaccos, then its hard to go wrong here. Good stuff, try an Oz.

I ordered this after trying some McClelland Christmas Cheer. I had never tried Flake before. I was so impressed I ordered this, the straight Virgina Flake. It is smooth, has and needs no flavor additives, and it has a delicate favor all of its own that I very much fancy. This could easily become one of my stock daily smokes. I immediately ordered an extra supply.
