2025 English Cavendish combines yellow and orange grades of sugary, sun-ripened flue-cured tobaccos with delicate fragrant Xanthi Oriental. The tobaccos are pressed, sliced and tumbled out in the traditional Cavendish method. If you enjoy subtle, real tobacco flavor, you'll love 2025.

My favorite
My favorite go to tobacco. I usually preferred Virginia flakes or VaPers until I tried this! Subtly sweet and mellow. Keep it chunky for best results.

A nice change for Virginia flake or Va/Per smokers
I ordered 2 oz. after P&C was out of stock on McClelland No. 2000. I'm a big fan of their bulk flakes. This one is a very nice change from my usual VaPer flake, or an English-style mixture. Lightly (and naturally) sweet, it is not cloying and smokes well once lit. I do suggest rubbing it out and letting it air for a few minutes before packing. It tends to hold moisture and will gurgle a bit near the end if you don't. Also, the sweetness means I generate a bit more saliva while smoking its delicious flavor, so it could be due to that as well. Presents as a broken flake, similar to #2010 or #2015, although a little thicker. Delicious.

A Fantastic Tobacco
I ordered a 2 oz. sample of this because I was intrigued by the idea of a cavendish flake. After one pipeful I ordered a pound. A beautiful flake cut, with a very appealing grassy aroma. Naturally sweet, with no additives or toppings that I can detect. Smokes rich and cool whether left as a flake or rubbed out. I'll definitely be back for more.

My New Favorite Pipe Tobacco.
I'm a big fan of McClelland No. 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake but ordered 4 oz. of the No. 2025 for some variety. Little did I know that the English Cavendish would come to vie for my attention with my steady Virginian. The smoke itself is technically perfect, that is easy. The flavor, though not as sweet as the No. 2000, is still amply north of flat. I sometimes find myself loading a bowl just because it's a pleasure to work my way through session with this offering. If you're a fan of Virginias, you should make a place in your home for some of this.

McClelland 2025 English Cavendish A Delight
This is a high quality cavendish flake that is not too sweet and has subtle undertones of orientals and latakia. It requires some rubbing out of the flakes and once lighted it is even and smooth, well balanced and satisfying. If you smoke heavily flavored or strong english style tobaccos, this one will provide a respite from the flavor peaks while providing a robust even flavored quality smoke.

Customer Testimonials
McClelland’s bulk English Cavendish is very light and comforting. It leaves a sweet aftertaste. I enjoy this tobacco on days when it is raining and I want to sit and think. Of course I am a Cavendish fan and so you should try this yourself!
