For those not familiar with Syrian Latakia, Syrian Full Balkan may seem to be misnamed, but the more delicate flavor of the Syrian variety is definitely noticeable, here. This form of Latakia (the original kind, I might add) is smoked with oak and herbs, utilizing a varietal called Shek-al-Bint. Wonderful Orientals add an exotic quality, while excellent Virginias lend some sweetness, but the spicy smokiness of the Syrian Latakia is what makes this blend special.
I liked this tobacco, but still not strong enough for my taste. At this time I still prefer club old dog.

I've recently been sampling some of the various Syrian offerings from McClelland and I have to say this is a winner. Smooth, a little spicy, and wholly enjoyable. I couldn't really find anything wrong with it, but I do prefer 3 Oaks Syrian a bit more.

A wonderful mixture! Smooth, slow, easy smoking and not harsh. Great flavor that is oriental forward, slight sweetness from the Virginia's with the Syrian Latakia to add a depth of flavor that no other tobacco can bring. Definitely gonna order more to cellar!
