The Missouri Meerschaum Cobbit Shire is a stocky acorn shape with nice, thick walls and a dark-stained finish. The extra-long, semi-churchwarden stem is made of black vulcanite for extra durability and comfort. The bottom of the bowl is finished with a hardwood plug for longer life. Kick back and relax with this great-smoking cob.
While these are great pipes I've always disliked the stems.. They are flimsy and bouncy and are just not tough enough in my humble opinion, especially when you have longer cob pipes like these new Cobbit's. If your going to purchase any of these cob pipes i would highly recomend that you seek out a replacement stem for them right away. Your best alternative is the "Forever" stems which will be made by Pat Morgan's new site http://oldlogcabinpipeworks.com/ You cant go wrong with them and i guarantee you will love them. I think there plan is to start making these stems with all their cob pipes but im not sure. And right now i think they are going to take special orders to start with. I bought a few forever stems from the previous maker (Walker Briar Works) for my own cob pipes and its like a whole new MM pipe now. Mr Wolf is an awsome craftsman when he made these forever stems and now his stems can be have passed onto Pat Morgan and the Missouri Meerschaum company.
