Nice pipe with big bowl.
Nice pipe with big bowl. Comes with 6mm filter but I just took mine out. Easy draw and light weight. The mouth piece is nice and small. Great pipe for beginner or someone traveling that doesn’t want to mess up a more expensive pipe. I would buy again.

Classic
This is a classic. The stain only darkens as you use it. The bowl is large enough for an easy 35-minute smoke. The draw is good and the feel is solid, even without an acrylic stem. If you are new to cobs, buy this one first.

Anytime, go to pipe.
I have several and use them all the time...mowing grass, working in the shop or garden, hiking. I like having an everyday pipe with a filter, and a large bowl. Best part, they are reasonable priced so I'm not upset if I "misplace" one!

My Favorite Cob Pipe
I enjoy smoking this Country Gentleman cob pipe almost as much as my briar pipes. The light weight and small bit make for easy clenching. The fit and finish are nice. A little tougher bit would be a nice upgrade as bite marks are left easily. I’ll be ordering several more of these.

Value and Quality
Fine pipe. Every Aromatic I try is first smoked in a Cob. If it Ghosts the Cob it's not that big a deal. Some Aromatics never see a Briar. So my Cobs get a lot of use. I prefer the Country Gentleman Cob. Fits my hand well, and always delivers a fine smoke. Can't beat the price either. I'm about an hour and a half drive (or an 8 hour float) upriver from the Missouri Meerschaum facility. Always a good drive and a nice visit. So get a couple and enjoy a smoke from my neck of the woods - The Ozarks

Great Everyday Pipe!
Nice little bent-stem pipe. I can adjust features and repair any cracks easily, and the last a really long time for “just corn”. I keep several so I can leave them in places I frequent around the house and one in the truck, and rotate them in use. I only wish I could purchase extra stems for when the plastic gets damaged.

Amazing little smoker
My first pipe when I started piping. Still using it to this day. Great smoker. I cherish it. Put a bent stem on it to clench. Easy decision for someone starting their piping journey.

No disapointment
Great pipe for a super price. Smokes better that some of my more costly pipes. Would certainly buy again. I smoke a black cavendish (Haider) or a vir/bur/cav type blend (Mariner) from F.K Kirsten in Seattle. Very tasty in a corn pipe.

best bang for the buck
I love corn cobb pipes. They are my go to work pipes. IMO they smoke as good as a briar pipe and I don't have to worry if I drop it or bump into something while working. Also the ultimate tobacco tester pipe. I've never noticed them to ghost any other flavors.

Great pipe for $$ needs filter.
Looks great. The bowl size is a smidge bulky (for my preference) You need a filter to get good smoke from your draws. Without the filter the smoke is thin and wispy.

Dandy of a Cob
I’m gradually increasing my pipe count, and having a certain number of cobs available is key to this. I found this one to be very appealing, with a wintery feel to it. I actually wanted to get one for one particular tobacco or blend type, dark fired’s. As is commonly thought, cobs are useful for a variety of ways because they don’t typically ghost with other blend varieties. I say typically, and others out here may have discovered as well, because they do in fact ghost when it comes to smoking dark fired out of them. For whatever reason, that’s the one that will hang on the cobs, at least for a few bowls after you switch to some other blend, before it finally dissipates. So that is why I decided to relegate one particular pipe to dark fired. Of course if you don’t like dark fired at all then this is useless information, but thought I’d share for those who may have come across this using cobs. The pipe smokes very nicely by the way, with a good deep bowl.

Heafty Companion
A little bit bigger than the Legend or Washington, this is one of my stand-by smokers. It has some heft and the dark stain gives it a little refinement. But it is still a tremendous buy and will last for years and years. Get several to have around in the house, car, cave, or backpack. Works well with or without the filter. For the price, one of the best.

Worth ten times the price!
I am new to pipe smoking. I have purchased an assortment of different types of pipes and tobaccos to learn what I like. To my astonishment this simple and inexpensive pipe has been a life changer for me. It is literally everything that I was looking for. Smooth and easy to use and makes every tobacco taste great. I have already ordered a second and it is on its way. I have also shopped around for the same pipe and this is the best price I have seen. Totally over joyed and would recommend to anyone, everyone and their brother!

Best pipes I own
I have one for everyday of the week I normally change to a Danish bit but the factory bit is more than fine. It is my everyday go to pipe. The price is right and the bowl is big enough for a good smoke. I can not speak highly enough of this pipe. If I could afford it I would have one for everyday of the month. I smoke burley blends that are good ole American blends and more of a utilitarian pipe smoker. If I break one I will not be crying about the loss. I would be saddened over the loss of an outstanding pipe.

To date I have only smoked this pipe 3 times sp it's hard to pass a true judgement of it. It does not smoke like the MM Diplomat I hazve (which by the way smokes excellent), Any faults it has (the CG) are probably that of my own. I like the way it looks ad feels.I will continue t smoke this one from time to time. It's in my rotation. When it's properly broke in it will most likely smoke better.

This is my go-to pipe.
This is my go-to pipe. I have one in the shop, one on the mower, and a spare just in case. Bowl size is just right, it’s lightweight, filters are easy to change, and when I’ve finally destroyed the stem but smoking hands-free while working, I’m not upset since they are very reasonably priced. Great everyday pipe.

I love this pipe! It’s my first corn cob pipe, and the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a lot bigger then I thought it would be. The bowl is big and it’s a very beautiful piece. If you’re looking for a good corn cob pipe I do recommend this one, just don’t do next day shipping pipes and cigars took my money and didn’t send it next day.

Need to get some more
Before my wife took them over a few days after receiving them I was able to enjoy several bowls from them before they were confiscated into her collection. They are a little heavier than I am used to but a great sit and think pipe where I am normally on the go. As the title of this review states I will be purchasing a few more in the future.

Good starter pipe
This was my first ever tobacco pipe. I chose it based on recommendations that I start with a cob since they're inexpensive and perfect for beginners to test the waters and decide if they want to continue the journey. I was a cigarette smoker who has struggled with quitting for years, with some success in the past, but ultimately I always came back. Not to imply that pipes are a recommended method to quit smoking cigarettes, but since I started with this pipe (1-2 bowls a day depending on how busy I am in a given day), I have not smoked a single cigarette. I recently moved on to a Brigham briar with their Rock Maple filters and I'm loving it as my regular pipe right now. However, I still use my Country Gentleman here and there to change it up and also offer it as a guest pipe if I'm smoking with a friend who would like to give it a whirl. It will stay in my collection as long as it can hold up and is definitely worth the price if you're looking for an inexpensive starter pipe or just cob to add to the collection.

Good Heavy Bowl.
I liked how it was bubble wrapped shipped. The pipe is slightn heavy for the teeth but I have used mixed pipe tobacco and it flows as good as a regular pipe. The stem is little loose but flexible to change directions. I enjoy the deep bowl since I can again mix it with various blends. Enjoy a good outside porch experience and good smoking. Buy it.

I Must Have Been A Hillbilly
I originally thought corncob pipes were literally a joke from that old cartoon "Frosty The Snowman." I then saw images of people portrayed as hillbillies smoking them and in my mind I could not believe they really worked. That all changed when I bought a MM cob years ago on a whim... from that moment on I was hooked! I could not believe how good these pipes work. Now I will admit that I have had a couple that burned through after only a few bowls but I find that these pipes smoke great for a long time before they start to crumble. And I do mean a LONG time before the have to be retired. The MM Country Gentleman is my main Go To pipe. It takes a 6mm filter which I used to remove. Now I use the filter regularly. The bowl seems to be quite generous so I'm reluctant to smoke pricier or exclusive tobaccos like Penzance in it. However, my all day tobaccos like Lane BCA do great in this rascal. This pipe is great and if you are a bit outdoorsy, you might keep one in your glove box just to have when you want to drop the tailgate and smoke under a big shade tree... Just like those images of the hillbillies I remember. What a great way to watch a sunset!!!

This pipe is really smooth smoking and enjoyable to smoke. Price is right, too. My only drawback is it doesn't use the 9 mm filter, but still really good smoking pipe.

A new favorite companion
Hard to believe a pipe at this price point could possibly be this good at doing what it does, all while feeling like a natural extension of yourself. Putting price aside, it's more favored than many of my high end briars.

Solid and fun to hold
This is my first "full size" corn cob pipe. (I've had several "minis".) Out of the box it was a lot larger than I was expecting. It's got quite a heft to it and is comfortable in the hand. (I have medium sized hands and find it enjoyable to get four fingers and my palm on the bowl.) It's a little heavy to clench and though I do so anyway. I was surprised how deep the bowl is compared to how small the diameter is. It's not a problem but I'm paying much closer attention to those dimensions as I shop for my next pipes. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a straight stem and prefers a lot of "hand to bowl" contact while smoking.

Who needs over-priced briars?
I now have two bent bit versions of these most excellent pipes in my ever expanding MM cob pipe rotation, and they are far and away my favorites. The fit and finish are excellent, the larger bowl size is particularly nice when you just want to load it up, kick back, and enjoy a nice, long, satisfying smoke. - And you can't beat the price.

My first cob
And it is awesome. Way higher quality than I thought it was gonna be, I could see how these would last someone a long time. I bought the Country Gentleman for smoking my last bit of frogmorton on the bayou, and to explore the likes of magnum opus and fusilier's ration after the frog is gone.

Great pipe
I'm partial to corncob pipes, mainly because they are cheap, easily replaceable, and they smoke great. They are cheap pipes, but they are still made in a quality way. They are cheap, but not junk. The country gentleman is an excellent choice in a cob pipe pipe . The bowl is large enough for a good long smoke, and it generally smokes nice and cool. It's a bit heavier than other cob pipes, but still easily clenched for hands free smoking . I love my briar pipes, but I'm very fond of the cobs and at this moment, the country gentleman is my favorite cob to smoke.

The “corn cob” at its best!
I love Missouri Meerschaum pipes... They are simple, inexpensive, and smooth smokers. No, they aren’t status symbols like some higher end pipes, but you don’t have to worry about break-in and, if you lose one it isn’t the end of the world (I still wonder what happened to my beautiful Ben Wade that just seemed to grow legs and wander off...). These are just great everyday pipes that do way more “ than they get paid for”!

my favorite cob
I have tried lots of cobs over the years, this one is by far my favorite. The hard maple wood bottom helps this pipe have a long life expectancy. One of the best pipes you can get for the price. This is an excellent bargain.

The country Gentleman is a nice smoking pipe which I have added to my "most used" pipe rotation.

My first pipe.
This has been my first pipe. It smokes very well. It's heavy and not a pipe you can hang for too long. I've been able to try different blends without any ghosting issues. Great service from Pipes and Cigars. I'm hooked on a new hobby.

What a great pipe!
For the money, it doesnt get much better than the country gent. It smokes cool, stays lit, and has a higher end look for cobs. I plan on getting a few more to fill out my rotation.

Good looking cob.
Like all cob pipes I have tried, the Country gentleman produces a cool and dry smoke. It is inexpensive enough to carry around in your pocket when you are out and about and this shape with the darkened finish is my favorite cob design.

Good looking Pipe....thought it would be light weight because of the cobb....Didnt realize how much lighter my savinelli proffesor was...gave it to my son....

Great but heavier than most cobs
Just like all your cobs. Sweet and great taste. I mix pound of 1Q and 12 oz of captain black royal.

A great cob, but with one big problem...
In my Judgment, this is the best for all-around or general use. Good bowl ID/OD, depth and weight. The big down-side is the toy molded plastic stem it has. You will need to replace many stems and quite frequently too. Why they would make such a good pipe and then stick an inferior stem on it is a mystery to me. For stem replacement the amber are better than the black and the straight lasts a bit longer than the bent (the slight upward shaft works well with a straight stem and the straight stem allows one to get a higher bite where the plastic is thicker). In addition, the Danish model stem replacement will last a little longer than the regular too (and they look better). Other models without a hardwood plug should be avoided as well. This is feedback I have addressed to M.M. recently; I hope they respond with an explanation as I must presume others have noticed this major weakness with their product(s). They do make the Free Hand model with all their best features (with an appropriate up-charge), but it’s a large “sitting” pipe and not intended for general daily use.

My favorite cob by far
I have three. One is three years old, one two years old that I purchased after being so impressed with the first and a brand new one for my stash, just in case. I've own and have smoked 13 cobs of 6 different styles and if I could only have one, this would be it hands down. It's an amazing pipe that just gets better with age. Solid as a rock, great bowl thickness and heft, a fine draw* and after a few years, a very nice patina. *To each his own but I hate disintegrating paper filters, balsa are better but when this gentleman is broken in and if you're a sipper, well, I let the filter go a long time ago.

Awesome Fist Pipe!
This was my first Pipe! Great smoke time! I know cob are known to not need much of a break in but I felt this pipe smokes 10x better after the first dozen smokes or so! A little cake but not much! My go to Cob Pipe! Watch the tobacco you are putting in! Wet stuff will tongue bit ya hard ;) My Favorite, Could be yours too!

Tried and true
I am a fan of Cobbs and this one is a standout. The ease of smoking and maintenance never fails to amaze me. This makes a great gift for new smokers who are unsure if the hobby is for them.

Great pipe right off the bat. Smooth drawing, comfortable and maintains coals. I like it a lot I will be buying more Missouri Meerschaum pipes.

A total surprise.
I have some nice pipes in my collection, nice briars and Meershaums, but this little MM country gentleman has become my favorite. I am going to buy other styles of MM. Great pipe for a small cost.

Great Pipe!
Full disclosure: this is my second pipe ever. I am completely new to this. My first pipe was a ~$25 Pear wood pipe. The first tobacco I used was smokers pride cherry cavendish. There was such a tart/chemical taste from it that I hated it. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I bought this Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman Bent corn cob pipe and coupled it with Molto Dolce tobacco and it was much much better. It was very smooth and enjoyable. I don't know if it was the change to a corn cob pipe that made the difference for me or the tobacco but these two have me sold on them!

Excellent Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman Pipe!
I'm new to pipe smoking, with that said a very well made pipe and enjoyable smoke.

Good Addition!
I'll keep it short and sweet. This pipe has class, quality, and smokes fantastic! I've tried several different blends and they all taste very good. Im a casual pipe smoker but I find this is now my go to pipe....in fact Im about to go sit on my porch and smoke some Rivendayle out of it. Happy piping all!

Great Long Smoker
Smokes great. You can really pack this thing to last well over an hour.

Great value!
Everyone should have at least a few MM cobs in there pipe rack. Great "knock around" pipe to carry with you fishing, hunting, camping, or just working in the yard. I have a great collection of briars and meers. Each are great, but, regardless of what some may say, cobs are a great value and pleasure to smoke. I've got several with many years of great smokes on them. Maybe it's nostalgia, but, I always have and will continue to enjoy my collection of cobs!

Good work pipe
I use this pipe at work. It came with a 6mm Dr. Grabow style filter after which I changed it out to a 6mm Savenilli. Smokes better and draws good. This is the 3rd filter pipe I have.

Missouri Meerschaum Cob
One of the best pipes I have ever smoked. Immediately satisfying from the first bowl. I have smoked these great pipes for the last three years and have purchased many different varieties. Only downside is that they don't last more than a few months, but the price is worth it.

Great second pipe!
As someone who just started smoking pipes, I wanted something to give my briar a rest and this was the perfect inexpensive alternative! It smokes light and sweet and at the price I do not have to worry about it when I'm out back working. I will probably purchase another at some point.

Country Gentleman Cob Pipe
Recently started back on a pipe, purchasing a country gentleman cob. I'm enjoying smoking a pipe again and am loving my cob. I suspect I will eventually get a few briars, but for now my cobs are just what I need.

a new favorite
The best pipe I have ever owned. I quickly ordered a straight stem as well, bent for aromatics and straight for English. I own several other cobs but the gentleman is my favorite one, the only reason I ever use my Twain, Washingtons, or legend is because I'm giving the gentleman a rest

MM Country Gentleman
One of my favorite shapes in the MM line. Nice bowl size and fits nicely in the hand. As with all MMS, the size is always variable given the vagaries of each harvest, but with over 30 different cobs in rotation, I have noticed in my purchases over the past year a subtle reduction n size in all cobs I purchased as well as more flaws in each. Bad harvest, slip in quality control due to increased demand? Not a big deal as they are still a bargain.

A Great Cob
Easy to break in, easy draw, nice size bowl, cool smoking--in short, a very nice pipe. Only criticism is the cheap plastic stem; other than that, its a real winner!

I couldn't be happier with the pipe or the price. I even have higher end pipes I'll pass on for this one.

MM Country Gentleman
I rated it high because I have never been disappointed with any MM Cob I have bought. I bought this pipe to keep as a spare and haven't used it yet. When I do, I will rate it further. I mean, its a Missouri Meerschaum, so it can't be bad right?
5 out of 5
Missouri Meerschaum
I only use Corn Cob pipes. Enjoy the Country Gentleman because bowl size and mouth piece is a bit smaller and fits well. If you are a corn cob pipe smoker like me, you know after awhile the bowl starts to split. The shape of the Country Gentleman help reduce that. Spend a couple of bucks more for a good corn cob pipe , they are well worth it. If you haven't tried one before, you are missing a good smoke.

Great pipe!!
I was very impressed by the quality of this pipe, especially for the price. Quality American workmanship!

I'm just a beginner
For a novice, I'm afraid to leave a 5-star rating because I don't know the finer things about pipes. What I do know is that once you get past that weird plasticky taste of the first two or three bowls, the flavor settles into a cool, dry, sweet smoke that hangs on your palate pleasantly. A friend told me that his dad went through one cob a week, but I just don't see that happening. This and its brothers are built well.

Big, beautiful bowl!
Now that this pipe is properly broken in I love it. I got the straight with black stem. The pipe arrived with a smell of glue, and it was visible at the bottom of the bowl. I carefully got as much out as I could with a small knife before smoking it, and after about four smokes the odor/taste of it was gone. The bowl is a beautiful dark rustic stain that seems to get darker with repeated smokes (but this may be my imagination) and its cavernous! If you fill it up plan on being seated for awhile as it will be a long, relaxing smoke! This one is now the favorite in my collection for an evening smoke. Cheers!

Do not care for cob pipe
Well, I believed I had to have one and MM is supposed to be a good one. I simply do not like the cob pipe. Just tastes goofy to me and so it sits on my work bench collecting dust. The good part is it only cost a few dollars.

Very nice pipes. Extremely light and well made. Good smoking.

Try This
I have had the same issue of the glue smell in several other MM cob's. What helps is to get a small micro torch and lightly burn the inside of the pipe and let it sit a few days.

hello i have found to get the most from any corn cob pipe is to afer a coupke of bowls to take the tip out then rince the pipe under hot water . when all the black comes out it ready to be dryed. rince the stem out under water as wel. this way the pipe gives the dryest smoke possiable... enjot and God bless You Glenn

The BEST MM, the Gentlemen!
This is a excellent MM pipe. The bowl is big, you can easily get 45 minutes or more out of these. Prior to smoking the first time you will smell the glue and coating used on the bowl, but after smoking once or twice it quickly goes away. Great look, excellent feel in the hand, stays pretty cool, and adds a great flavor to the smoke (especially aromatics). I liked it so much I ordered a second one to add to my rotation. I would say this is the finest model MM offers in size and style. Love it...

It's a corn cob alright
I'm not much on cobs but I like to have a cheap one available for camping/fishing trips so that I don't care if something happens to the pipe I'm smoking while out. I wish the stem didn't have a glob of glue at the bottom of the bowl. Otherwise it seems quality enough as far as this type of pipe goes.
5 out of 5
It surpassed my expectations.
In the past I have purchased cobs from other companies that had imperfections that bugged me, but no 2nds here, the country gentleman I received was as perfect as a cob can get. Thanks pipes and cigars.

first pipe first impression
Well I wasn't expecting much because of the price. The pipe arrived today on time with my sampler I ordered. I was pretty excited to try my first pipe. Unfortunately the pipe reaks of what I assume is superglue. There's no way I can smoke out of this and it's harshly killed my excitement. Other than that it seems like a decent enough pipe, looks fine, and is not damaged. Hopefully it will wear off soon and I can actually use it.

One of the best from Missouri Meerschaum.
I love this pipe it is one of my favorite cob pipes. If you're looking for a great pipe look no further than a Missouri Meerschaum old country gentleman for a relaxing smoke.
5 out of 5
Great pipe, great value.
Great pipe. I have three MM pipes and have been pleased with all but one of them. The Country Gentleman works well as both a tasting pipe and a regular pipe. It's nothing fancy, but the black/white color scheme gives it that unique kind of look. The bowl itself is easy to handle and doesn't get very hot at all. I've had no problems with the quality of this pipe so far and have gone through about 7-8 smoking sessions with it.

Cobs
Best pipes for fishing. They look very classy but they are also cheap so I don't mind if they fall to the bottom of the river while fishing

A brilliant smoke.
This is my first cob and I must say it is simply brilliant. I don't know why I waited so long to look in to cobs, and man, I was missing out. The first couple smokes I could really taste the cob, but now it is a super consistent and just slightly sweeter smoke every time. It comes with a 6mm filter (order a box of replacements now) which I have decided to use; after choking on a couple embers without it I decided that was enough of that! I also purchased a Mark Twain and it smokes just as good. If there is a negative it's the stem, its a little soft and mars easily, but that is no big deal. I'll stop so you can stop reading and start ordering. Enjoy!

Simple pleasure
This pipe embodies the titular sentiment. Just load it up and smoke away. Pretty big bowl, and smokes super cool so you can sit and relax. A bit crude but it gets the job done fantastically. I'd definitely get a couple more.

A Country Delight!
When I got the email asking me to write a review, I just happened to be having a nice pipeful of Dunhill Early Morning blend in my Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman. And I have to say, it's hard to beat the value and quality of one of these "cheap" pipes. Virtually no break in time, smooth smoking, tough as nails, inexpensive enough that if it gets left somewhere, it's not a tragedy. And so rugged that even a few days lost outside in the rain or snow doesn't destroy the pipe: it 'adds character!" And these are versatile too: As comfortable at home in my blacksmith's shop as they are in town, having a relaxed smoke outside an art gallery. Country Gentleman says it all...

Missouri meershaum country gentleman bent
Only my second M.M. corn Cobb style. Little nicer than the Washington style. The cobb has a clear coat finish that feels better in hand. The bowl shape fits better as well. Can't go wrong with Missouri meershaum corn cobb.

This experience is a must
What a great pipe! Don't let yourself tricked by a corn cob, this really is a classy gentleman's pipe. Beautiful work, you can even enjoy the maker's love in it, and not only your tobacco. Right size for a relaxed time with your pipe. Not a quickie, but if you like those kind of things you definitely find a pipe from Missouri Meerschaum as wel. What did you just think I was talking about? This is a full bodied pipe with a soul made to enjoy pipe smoking. I already do so.

Great Pipes, Great Price
I love the Missouri Meerschaum pipes and now have 8 of them including 3 Country Gentleman. The Country Gentleman has a relatively large bowl for a nice long smoke. I do prefer to use filters in these but they can be removed if your preference is without. Missouri Meerschaum pipes are inexpensive enough that you can have several for your Aromatic, English, and Non-Aromatic tobaccos. Light and easy to "clench". The bits are cheap enough to replace if need be. My "go to" pipes!

Father-in-Law Introduced Me to a Great Pipe!
This is my first experience with a Missouri Meerschaum. My Father-in-Law won't smoke any other pipe if he has one of these and has smoked them for over 50 years! He'd had some trouble finding one where he lives and he has never been on line so I bought one for him. He asked me to by him 2-3 more so I threw one in for myself. It is a great smoking pipe. Easy to break in and smokes cool. I've dedicated it to smoking The Virginia Cream which I also recommend. I'll be keeping one of these around all the time now.

Wow this thing is way higher quality than what I payed for. The bowl is huuge, it's durable and smokes quite heavenly. If I saw somebody with this pipe I would guess it's $20 or more, not 9!

Love my cobs.
Love this pipe! Smokes cool, dry and taste free. If you have never tried a corn cob you are missing out. For the price they can't be beat. If you use one it will be hard to go back to a briar. Also for the price if one gets lost or broken you haven't lost a chunk of change. If you want to try a new tobacco cob is the best way to go. It doesn't give off the flavors and aromas from previous smokes.

Great Corn Cob pipe
I bought this when I ordered a corn cob pipe for myself. This one I gave to my cousin that showed interest in smoking pipe. So I gave him this pipe a extra pipe tool I had and a spare tin of pipe tobacco I had as a small gift to him. I liked the way it was made and may buy one for myself a day.

First real pipe for a newbie...
This is only my second pipe, my first being a Meerschaum taster pipe I purchased while traveling abroad (big mistake...don't buy a taster pipe as a first pipe). This is my go-to pipe. It has a great draw, feels great in the hand, and the tobacco burns great in this pipe. I get compliments on this from others when I bring it out to smoke at gatherings. As I don't have a briar pipe I can't compare it, but honestly I don't see a need for one since I enjoy smoking MM pipes so much.

Exceptional, but...
4Stars because, ... I still think my MM legend smokes just a tiny bit better. If I could give this 4 1/2 stars I would. The Country Gentleman is a exceptional cob, but my MM legend still just seems to be a fraction better. Honestly, if you prefer this shape in the least you can't go wrong"

A must have for your collection
I definitely agree that you should have a cob or two in your rotation. I've had a few and the CG strikes the perfect balance for me, it hits the sweet spot between the rustic Huck Finn and the iconic MacArthur, the vibe is just right and easy to carry off. It is my Sunday kick-back pipe. It smokes great, the bowl is generous, the construction is first-rate. I've been hitting this one pretty hard on an all day basis, I'm on my third stem and it's never failed to please.

One beautiful looking and smoking pipe. All I smoke are cobs and not just cause I'm an Ozark hillbilly. They are economical and smoke unbelievably better. The Gent is my new favorite and I broke her in with Cult Blood Red Moon, also my new favorite and an unbeatable pairing. Can't go wrong with either. Good smoking my friends.

Very nice pipe, cleans easy and smokes well.

Very nice cob. Big bowl; a longer smoke than I like if completely filled. Smokes very cool. Really shines with Carter Hall and H&H Prince Andrew.

Love this cob!!!

Just got my Country Gentleman today and packed it up with a blend from our local shop called Mountain Magic. I think I have now found the perfect combination! A little heftier than I expected, but that's actually a good thing. Fits perfect in the palm of your hand, nice sweet draw. Been smoking a smallish briar churchwarden and a Grabow Grand Duke, now I think this hillbilly has officially been converted. (Plus, it looks great peeking out of the pouch on my overalls!)

Great pipes and a great price. I would highly recommend this pipe to everyone.

A classic cob. The finish is nice, and the bowl is larger but not obscene. A little heavy in the mouth, but not terrible. Tastes very clean, as cobs tend to do. The price cannot be beat, and you can rest assured that if you burn it out, you can dig some change for another and you are good to go. Overall just a great little smoker that goes well with sweet tea and a porch swing.

Perfect size. Smokes cool.

I received my country gentlemen pipe several weeks ago. I have several rosewood pipes but, they have a habit of changing the flavor of the tobacco. The country gentlemen was the best purchase so far!!! I will order several more in the coming months. The price is great so you can afford different corn cobs. Corn cobs put several more expensive high price pipes to shame!!!!

This is an awesome pipe. I like this better than my 2 briars or my other corn cob pipes. Put together well and is a cool smoke. Not hard to get the pipe cleaner in the stem either.

I can't believe how great a pipe this is for only 9 bucks! It's well made, attractive, light (especially for the size) and smokes GREAT right from the start. And when they say "extra large bowl," they aren't kidding! I don't think I've packed the bowl full yet. Definitely a loooonnng smoke, or a smoke some now, smoke some later pipe. Highly recommended!

Great starter pipe. Has a huge chamber, so plan to have a long smoke if you get this pipe. It is a bit heavy in the mouth due to the length and ho large the bowl is.

I have smoked out of meerschaum, briar, and wooden pipes. I got this pipe instead of meerschaum because of the difference in price. When it arrived in the mail, I wasn't expecting it to be so solid. It has a very clean and smooth flow. I recommend this pipe for somebody who needs a cheap pipe and is looking for value. You just can't get any better than this!

This little beater pipe smokes great. My first cob. Buy one you'll love it.

I love this pipe! Looks great and has a large bowl. Smokes great too!

One of my favorite pipes. Great open draw, easily replaceable stems, clean tasting smoke. And it is cheap and looks great! Definitely get one of these.

I have some expensive pipes and bought this one as a "beater" for travel to rustic areas. It is a superb pipe with an excellent draw and the large bowl is an added benefit. Talk about value for the money!!

There's really nothing negative that can be said about this pipe. While all Missouri Meerschaum pipes are worth owning, I think this one really stands out. It's very sharp looking and is more durable than it's counterparts. I have another MM of about the same age that is warped, cracked, and swollen. While it's still a good smoker, it's almost embarrassing to be seen smoking it. All in all, every decent pipe smoker should have at least 1-2 cobs in their collection, and this one is definitely a great start.

I bought this for my younger brother as his first pipe. We sat around my wood-stove and lit it up. No break in necessary and you got the great taste of the tobacco first smoke. I have a hardwood but can't wait to get my hands on one of these.

these pipes speak for themselves. If you are going to buy 1 cob make it this one. nice smoker, you can use 6mm balsa filters as well as paper ones but I like the balsa. Great pipe and you cant beat the price.
