Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentlemen Kit

This was the fourth different MM series pipe I’ve bought and so far my favorite. Most of the others are a bit too small but this one is just right. The bit is quite loose in the stem but manageable. The CG tobacco blend is an enjoyable non-aromatic smoke. Stays lit and smokes cool with almost no bite. If they offer these together again, I’ll buy them again.

The pipe is nice and the tobacco has a mild taste with a light sweet end.

I haven't owned a corncob pipe in years. So I ordered the Country Gentleman kit. (Did the great country guitarist Chet Atkins, the original Country Gentleman smoke Va/Per blends in a corncob pipe? One wonders.) The pipe itself was a real joy to smoke, as I rediscovered. The pipe tobacco, however was another story. I felt that it needed a few days of humidification as it was pretty dry right out of the pouch. Afterwards, the tobacco turned out to be quite pleasant, one of the more fragrant Va/Per blends. So if you have a jar or some sort, empty the pouch into it, and get yourself a clay disc or some other humidification device. Afterwards, you can enjoy some fine tobacco.

Pipe is well made worth the purchase, The tabbacco is OK

Country Gentleman has a large bowl and nice finish and it smokes well too! Gonna enjoy it for years.

Very good tobacco , pipe not so good. The pipe I received has a very bad chemical smell, and the tobacco could not be tasted through the chemical taste/ smell. The problem is that whatever they use to give the pipe the dark coloring rustication, was also coating the inside of the bowl. Now I'm not knocking Missouri meerschaum pipes, I own a total of 15 of them either in polished or nekid versions, and they are all fine smokers, with this one exception. Word of advice to you, Buy a polished or nekid pipe, and you won't go wrong. A word to P & C, they make a nekid version of this pipe, please carry it, instead of the chemically smelling version you now sell. Thankyou.
