Missouri Meerschaum Freehand

The Missouri Meerschaum Freehand is an all-American twist on the Danish freehand pipes that took the US by storm in the sixties and seventies. This large tapered cob has a darker finish and a stem that would look at home in a Danish briar.

Always great quality from Missouri
Always great quality from Missouri Meerschaum. Heavy and thick just the way I like my Cobb pipes. Has a naturally sweet smoking quality with no flavor ghosting from different blends. Always keep plenty around. Take care of these and they will last for years to come.

Very impressive cob pipe!
Wow, just wow, what a great looking pipe! I just inaugurated my MM Freehand Pipe with Match Holiday Mixture. The chamber was devoid of the lacquer that invariably ends up inside the bowls of some MM pipes, so it naturally tasted much better on its maden voyage. This is a very deep bowl, and gave me a two hour smoke. I actually had to set it down, and return to it a bit later. For the first smoke, this pipe performed remarkably well, except for the very bottom of the bowl. Burning that little bit of stem off is always interesting! It's a necessary evil of cob pipes, and goes with the territory. Half a dozen bowls from now, it will be a thing of the past (perseverance is key to burning that nub away). I'd have to say that I am very impressed with this pipe. It looks amazing for a cob, and promises to be a great smoker for times when I want a very long smoke (which is fairly often). I bought this pipe while they were on sale, so I got it at a very good price. I have over sixty briar pipes, about fifteen meerschaum pipes, four gourd Calabash pipes, and ten cob pipes. Out of all these far more expensive pipes, it's my cobs that render some of the best smokes!

Pulls great. Tastes nice and lasts a long time.
There's only one word to describe the feeling I get when smoking this pipe or another Missouri Meerschaum big type pipe. It's Success...pack the bowl loose with a pocket of air at the bottom and that pipe has pull.

It's a Missouri Meerschaum. That's All You Need to Know.
Great cob! Will buy again once I wear it out.

best buy
you can not beat these. I have pipes that cost 300 or more, but these smoke cooler, cleaner. and are quite durable. hands down the best pipe money can buy!

Great Bowl But Miserable Bit
I so love the Freehand bowl but the new bit is slightly shorter which in itself makes little difference from the original bit, but the bend is too drastic for the shape of the bit and is a horrible feel in the mouth. I replaced the new bits with the original spares that I had and now I have the Freehand pipe I remember. I tried to use the new bits in other pipes but I find it doesn't work at all. It might be just my mouth shape but these bits are now in storage.

Become an Instant Bon Vivant with this Pipe
Had it but a few days and ordered another one. 'Nuff said. It's truly a massive pipe but a distinctive work of art. Its size belies its light weight. Cool smoke. Especially latakia English blends. Haven't ventured out in public with it yet, but I know it will instantly make me look either pretentious or so sophisticated that even though I could smoke any pipe, I nevertheless chose this unique inexpensive corn cob. It projects an image of definite savoir faire--almost as if you look like you were born with an hors d'oeuvre in your hand. In other words, one becomes an instant "bon vivant" with this pipe. Will definitely be an attention getter. But even with all that cool factor, the pipe is reasonably priced at 25 bucks and smokes cool and pure. A++ so far.

Love this pipe!! holds a lot of tobacco! have used it everyday since purchase and no sign of burn-out. Takes the pressure off of my more expensive pipes and smokes as good or better. Will buy another for a back-up at this price can't beat it!

A Beauty
Always wanted one because a friend of mine had one and I was envious. Decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and purchase a MM FREEHAND. Glad I did. Not only is it a beautiful pipe but like all cobs you can't go wrong. A good size bowl for a good long smoke. Get one today!

Great Pipe
WOW! Best bang for the buck. I will admit that I am a little bias, I really like cobs in general. but this is an excellent pipe, it has a great chimney effect. It smokes very cool, and will add just a hint of sweetness to what ever you smoke. It is a steal at $25. I enjoy this more than some of my more expensive pipes. If you have ever said that you don't like English’s or latakia blends you might want to try them in this pipe...If you still don't like them...You probably never will.

Novelty Pipe
Not a serious pipe collector I have a few Savinelli, a half dozen basket pipes and this is my third Missouri Meechaum. I love my 2 Country Gentlemen. This one not so much. The wood plug in the bottom I so off center that is cuts the side of the base. After 3 smoke it looks like one place is trying to burn through, and I was surprise that the mouth piece will not come out of the stem. I have applied as much pressure as I dare and it does not move. No I would not buy it again. If I buy another it will be another Country Gentlemen.

Kick back and enjoy!
This is one great pipe. Not a clencher though. This is for kicking back on the patio with a nice beverage and settling in for nice relaxing smoke. The pipe is very unique and a welcome addition to my collection. Love it.

Freakin' Ahhhsome!
Amazing Pipe! Great hand feel. Loads of baccy. Makes you choose your time wisely. Gandalf would try and steal this baby. Note: it is NOT a great clincher for any length of time as it is fairly hefty, but that's ok, cuz I really love holding it. All in all, a favorite in my rotation. I'm excited at how marvelous my Missouri Meerschaum pipes smoke. Bravo!

Missouri Meerschaum Free Hand Review
What else can I say about this pipe, AMAZING! My MM General was getting burned out, so I began searching for another pipe. Because of my love for burleys and cobs, which I had read go well together, and after heeding this advice, I soundly agree. I had read some really good reviews on line about the MM Freehand. I'm happy to report that they were right on target. This pipe literally smokes itself. Were it not for packing it with tobacco and lighting it, I would almost be unaware I was smoking a pipe accept for the smooth draw and flavor. I also have a MM Great Dane Spindel which I am also very satisfied with. I have been really impressed with the MM corn cob line at least the ones I have purchased. I was content with the general, but the freehand takes smoking to the next level with its quality of smoking and construction. I am quite fond of sitting on the back porch and puffing away on some good burley such as OJK, Five Bros., and C and D burley flake no. 1. I have also recently purchased some D and R Picayune which I am excited about sampling. Way to go Missouri Meerschaum. The freehand definitely provides me with a very "free" feeling:)

Customer Testimonials
Great pipe. Definitely the most sturdy of the MM pipes that I own. If you're looking for a comfortable pipe that holds a TON of tobacco, then this is the one for you. Will probably buy at least one more soon.

Real beauty! Always one of my favorite pipes. I was given a cob on my 13 th birthday...40 years later It's still smokable.
