The Great Dane pipes are larger than most cobs and come in two shapes- one that looks like a spool of thread, and one reminiscent of a Danish egg shape. They come with a stylish black stem, and each shape is available in bent or straight.

Missouri Meerschaum craftmanship.
I love this pipe. It feels great in my hand, smokes wonderfully, and each one is hand spun on a lathe. It delivers a pure flavor cobs are known for. One minus: the draft hole was drilled a little high, so a small amount of tobacco wont burn.

Good smoking here
Very nice pipe. Good shape, fairly deep bowl. Cool smoking and the price is right.

A bit curved
The tip is a little more curved than I expected. Overall, it was still a good buy for my collection

Missouri Meerschaum does not dissapoint!
I LOVE my Missouri Meerschaum Pipes but I wanted one just a bit larger for a better fit to my large hands as well as to hold a bit more tobacco for a longer smoke. This pipe does that for me!. The top does get a bit hot so just hold it by the base and problem solved!

Great old standbys
My second pipe was a corn cob 47 years ago! I still find them a GREAT SMOKE! They're light, so easy to smoke, so smooth! 'Should have never set them aside!

Great cob
It has the perfect size bowl for me, not huge but deep. It is comfortable in the hand with the spindle making a good place to grip. The stem has a nice smooth bend instead of a kink, so cleaners go down easy. Overall it is a good quality cob. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't sit on it's own. You need some kind of a pipe stand or stem support (unless you set it down with the bowl opening facing down). But that's a small thing.

Another wonderful cob!!!
I recently added two new cobs to my collection. The egg shaped cobbit and a Great Dane Spindle. These pipes smoke just as well some of my higher quality briars! They are an inexpensive way to boost your collection, and perfect for trying new tobaccos. Cobs are a must have!

M M Great Dane
Great pipe, smokes cool, I'll have to wait and see how long it lasts, but at the price, it really doesn't have to last too long to be a good value.

Corncob pipes are a great conduit for tobacco
I have enjoyed tobacco smoking with corncob pipes for decades. Missouri Meerschaum knows corncob pipes. The Great Dane Spindle Bent is a fine example of modest smoking enjoyment. That said the stem and bit could use an update with the more durable and wear resistant vulcanite

No Filter
Finally, no filter. Woo! Mouthpiece was a little janky. But smoking is nice and otherwise very happy.

Cool and Dry
I cannot express the amount of shock that I experienced after smoking this pipe. Of all the briars and meerschaums that I own, my cob is the easiest smoking pipe that I own! The only drawback that I experienced was that the depth of tobacco chamber bore was much deeper than the air hole in the shank. However, this was easily fixed with a little pipe mud. All in all... I will be adding a few more cobs to my collection! I highly recommend a cob pipe for any beginner. It's easy nature of providing a wonderfully dry smoke was incredible. I did my best to make my cob smoke wet, but alas, no moisture! I experienced a wonderfully sweet taste that was not at all unpleasant. It adds another level of complexity to my non-aromatics. Go ahead... Pull the trigger, you know you want to!!!

90 % of my pipes are cobs. I sold off 90% of my briars after a friend gave me a mersham and I never looked back. They smoke wonderful . Always able to finish right to an ash in the bottom, if you love real tobacco flavor, cobs are the only way to go.Mark down in fl.
Customer Testimonials
This is a fantastic pipe. No gurgle, good draw and smokes like a champ. I removed the filters out of mine. Great for beginners or just to add to the rotation.
SS of Yukon, OK
Great pipe, bigger than expected. Is in my rotation with my briars.

This pipe is amazing. The bowl could be a little bigger but it's still fine. I bought this with a General MacArthur and two of the small Easton's. I wish I had bought these pipes first, they are much better than my considerably more expensive briar. Do yourself a favor and get a couple.
BT of Taylor, MI
I love this Great Dane spool pipe! It blew the doors off my briar pipe that cost 15 times more! Needless to say I am a corn cob pipe fan for life. You have to try one of these!

I really love Corncob pipes and this is my go-to pipe.
WH of Sacramento, CA
Bought one of these Great Dane pipes and it’s a good pipe, for the price it’s a fantastic pipe. Got the Spool model and like the way it fits my hand, like it so much I order a second one. Smokes well and it’s been my experience that the Missouri Meerschaum's Cobs are some of the best smoking pipes at any price. If you don’t have one, you have to give them a try!
