Newminster No. 3 Very Cherry is a Cavendish made with golden and red Virginias in the traditional method. A gentle cherry flavor is introduced for a pleasant room note, and is subtle enough that the flavor doesn't overwhelm the excellent tobaccos.
Very cherry is not very cherry. It does burn slow and has very little bite. It does not have a cherry aroma but is still quite fragrant.

I have to admit that I didn't care for the first pipe full. It seemed dry and burned my tongue a bit. So I gave it a second try a few days later. I smoked it more slowly and was pleasantly surprised by the taste and after taste. Not an overpowering cherry, but quite nice. I ordered a second pouch.

I've been smoking a pipe for right around 30 years, but I'm still a 'noob' when it comes to pipe smoking, so take this for what it's worth. I'm a flake man, (Heh...) however, I've been searching for the "perfect" cherry aromatic for my cellar and mostly for the room=note satisfaction of visitors and friends. This tobacco isn't it, but it comes closer than others I've smoked so far. Hardly any bite to it, unless huffed on like a freight train ... sweet, tangy room note ... excellent taste ... and wonderful storage quality, in that it doesn't turn to dust if handled too much. I will order more of this to cellar while I continue my search. I would recommend Newminster #3 Very Cherry to anyone wanting a high-quality cherry aromatic for their line-up.
