Nording Compass Matte Pipes

I am the proud owner of 2 of these pipes. I originally bought a Nording Compass Matte Pipe in gunmetal gray because of the good reviews and wanted to try something different. The pipe was unique, smoked great from the get go, and was super easy to clean. Used Lane 1-Q to break it in and it smoked down to the bottom with a clean white ash and no residue in the bottom. Pipe was easy to clean, both shank and bowl, thanks to it being easy to remove an reinsert. Pipe arrived in excellent condition and nicely packaged. I liked it so well that I ordered a second one in the blue color. I love them both. One very minor drawback was the plastic bit for the mouthpiece which I corrected with a rubber softy pipe bit. If you are looking for something unique that smokes great, you will be very impressed with the Nording Compass Matte Pipe. I can guarantee that you will love it.

This pipe is fantastic. I don’t really like the look of this pipe but I bought one after the reading the reviews. I don’t smoke my pipes in public, so I figured how it looks doesn’t matter, although most pipe smokes wouldn’t care. I’m glad I bought it, because it not only smokes great (I now have 6 Nording pipes and they all smoke great!) it is the easiest pipe to clean I have ever had. The bowl is a little larger than the Keystone pipes, which I like. I can remove the aluminum shank and clean it completely with a pipe cleaner, as well as the bit and the opening in the bowl, literally in a minute. I can take it apart and store it in a backpack or bag and not worry about it being damaged. I control my puffing so it doesn’t get hot (I try to do that with every pipe I smoke) so there is literally no tongue bite. I get no gurgle or dribble back at all. And it is so convenient to be able to set it down upright so ashes don’t fall out. I wish I had bought this pipe sooner. It is now my favorite pipe.

Decent little lightweight smoker. Only con for me is the flimsy feel of the plastic bit.

Great pipe! Light weight, easy to clean and good looking.

This is a new and innovative pipe, with an unusual design, reminiscent of the Falcon concept. It is visually interesting and edgy, challenging traditional styles, but it is too early for me to have broken it in properly or to know if it will deliver a decent smoke. I question the need for urgency in pursuit of leisure and pleasure.

I love this pipe, I'm smoking it as I write this review. I initially thought it was ugly but it has charmed me with it's easy cleaning and cool smoking character. I don't use screens, so if like me, you occasionally get some tobacco in your air hole with this pipe there is no worry of removing the stem causing problems. Just remove it and slide in a pick, problem solved. Comes apart easily for portability too. I carry it with me in the small bag it comes with. For the price you won't be disappointed I intend to buy at least one more for my wife.

This pipe is a great addition to my collection. I smoke it 8 or 9 times a day. It does not overheat. And it is a very soothing smoke. I hope to use it for a long time.

an instant favorite. I got this as a dog walker because it is light. i didn't expect to love it. But I DO! it's light but also smokes really well, sits well, comes apart for easy cleaning and travel. it looks cool too. a bit odd, but who isn't.

This briar pipe - jacketed with aluminium - has one of the easiest draws I've experienced. The manufacture is first rate and the price is quite low in view of the quality. I suspect that the briar, which has excellent smoking properties, may be less than cosmetically perfect, since that would not be a requisite in this configuration. As a bonus, the pipe is a true sitter. I highly recommend it.

Great little pipe Like how you can sit it down on a desk and you don’t need a stand

I thought these were ugly at first, but being a 20 plus years Veteran of the Army, when I saw this I had to get it. When I got it I immediately knew that this was going to be my favorite pipe. It is very light, feels good in my hand and mouth. Smokes perfectly without getting hot or struggling to keep it lit. I purchased the copper one the next day. I have other name brand pipes that I may just list on Ebay because I might never smoke them again. My only complaint is that the light color wood around the rim turned black pretty fast from the smoke. I just ran a bead of bark stain around it to fix it.

Love the color and the finish. The smoke is great, the balance of the pipe is fine, and it feels really nice in your hand. Both the bowl and the smoke stay fairly cool. A great, durable, fun briar pipe. I have two minor nits (not enough to move to 4-stars). First, the press-fit of the stem into the bowl seems pretty loose to me, and I'm concerned that it will only get looser over time. But, over the first month of use, it hasn't been a problem. Second, the aluminum has a lip that encircles the top of the bowl. The press-fit between the briar and the aluminum is *just* enough that tobacco will collect in that lip as I'm packing a bowl of loose-leaf. It doesn't affect the performance of the pipe, but it's just a little annoying. I've gotten a few compliments on this pipe, and I really like it. For the price, it's a great pipe!

Wanted a pipe to use when I was roughing it, something I wasn’t afraid to damage in my pocket. The only thing I don’t like is the bit. Feels like cheap plastic between my teeth. Other than that it’s a very nice poker for the price
