Nutty Jamaican Scuffle

What makes up a Nutty Jamaican Scuffle? Well in the pipe tobacco sense we give you Peterson's Nutty Cut pipe tobacco and Sutliff's Private Stock Barbados Plantation. Both blends are composed of Virginias, Burley, and Cavendish but each has their own flavors that make these a good pairing to go head to head. Nutty Cut has essences of rum, coconut and macadamia nuts whereas Barbados Plantation has an enticing flavor of tangy rum. It is hard to choose which one would be better. That is why we call on our P&C Faithful to help determine which is the Nutty Jamaican Scuffle battle leader. At this time you can purchase both tobaccos at a low price and be able to smoke them side by side. Once you have tried them, come back and leave your review and tell us who the clear winner should be.

I am new to pipe smoking and I usually go for the darker blends but this one has a nutty rum flavor that's quite enjoyable. I will be looking for it later and others like it.

Peterson's Nutty Cut
Beautiful aroma while in tin, smokes and tastes well. Although I would prefer more Nic' it's still an enjoyable pipe tobacco. Only drawback in my opinion is that it can smell up a pipe.

Great after dinner smoke.
Very mild smoke. On 2nd bowl while writing. First bowl was very yummy. Full of rum and coconut that didn't overpower the tobacco and was done before meal. 2nd bowl is right after a hearty steak dinner. And the rum and coconut are not as pronounce. Instead I actually get a good amount of Macadamia nuts in with the mix. I would classify this as a solid " dessert" tobacco that you have to be on the mood for.. This tobacco rewards sipping and tasting.(NOTE both bowsl were accompanied with a glass of water to not change taste and smoked out of a new corncob. With a 24 hour lapse in smokes

Mellow on the poarch...
A great blend you will enjoy after a meal anytime of the day but especially at night. A nice warm brandy would be fine with this blend.

Yum
Very good! Room note, tin note and flavor reminds me of butterscotch, which I love. This is my first aromatic as I normally like vapers, English and dark fired blends. But the sale price got me to give this a try. I guess I'll have to try some more quality aromatics more often.

Chocolate goodness
I'm a newbie to pipe smoking so I don't have a broad range of comparison. That being stated...I really like this blend. It has a smooth chocolaty flavor with a nice mellow rum undertone. It is moist upon opening. The moistest of the 5 or so baccy's I've purchased to date. Therefore I had to relight it a few times but no biggie. The room note is favorable. In fact my daughter even commented how good it smelled. This I know has got to be a good thing. Enjoy!

New favorite
Great tasting tobacco, especially if you have a good drink to compliment it. No tongue bite, smokes cool, but, you also have to know how to smoke cool, otherwise it could potentially bite, almost no after taste, pleasant smell, this is a new go to for me. Easy to love

New Favorite
I love this tobacco. It doesn’t leave a bitter taste in my mouth and it has a great room note. My wife says it smells good. Definitely an all day smoke. Will order this one again.

not for me
Maybe I just got a bad tin. I was underwhelmed by this blend from the initial opening to the bottom of the bowl.

Noob Review Here
This is a tobacco that I enjoy because of it's pleasant rum flavor. The flavor won't bowl you over, but it's there. Notes of vanilla and pineapple too. It's moist but burns well.

Another Excellent Blend From Sutliff
Barbados Plantation is another wonderful blend from the people at Sutliff. Yet just as I feel The bulk blend of Crème Brulee is quite similar to Molto Dolce I get a similar impression from Sutliff's bulk blend Buttered Rum and Barbados Plantation. Both Molto Dolce and Barbados Plantation have a slight edge over their bulk counterpart - but the non-discriminating palate on a budget might opt for the bulk version. Which ever way you go all four previously mentioned Sutliff blends are among the best aromatics around.

Barbados Plantation? It's the only one for me.
The only pipe tobacco I smoke. I've tried the widely praised Officer's Club and also the several Sutliff bulk rum blends and they just don't measure up. Great taste, wonderful room note, easy to keep lit, and no bite. The perfect aromatic. When is it gonna be back in stock? It's been backordered for a while now.....

Wonderful smoke
What an outstanding smoke. Even though this is considered an aromatic I find it smokes almost like an English blend as you get tobacco flavors as well as nutty taste. Great tin note and room note. You get that nice nutty flavor. I won't say its macadamia but it is nutty tasting. I mixed a very small amount of my precious Syrian Latakia with this blend. The Latakia brings out the nutty flavor even more. Now I have a beautiful smoky nutty sweet baking bread flavor. Oh man it's simply awesome now.

Macadamia and creamy taste.
Macadamia nuts are the first thing you taste. Leaves a creamy taste but not very strong. A good blend to enjoy after dinner with coffee.

Yum! Rum!
Love this blend! Great rum flavor all the way to the bottom of the bowl, no noticieable bite and smokes well.

Not bad at all
I am mostly an aromatic smoker. Many arid simply don't have much in the way of actual taste. Barbados Plantation does offer some taste and great room note. It is one of my go to smokes. It burns cool and requires little in the way of relights. The taste does remind me of rum and a bit of bananas. I have found aro smokers find different flavors from the same tobacco. A lot deals with individual taste not to mention what has been on your palate recently. I think you will find, if your an aromatic smoker that this blend is more flavorful than most out there.

Macadamia Madness!!
The room note alone makes this an excellent smoke especially for new pipers. Very mild, no tongue bite and a nice flavoring of macadamia nut and coconut as well.

Mellow Taste
I enjoy this blend. Not my favourite of all time, but still a good go-to. It's got a licorice/cocoa/coffee kind of note to it. I find myself smoking a bowl of this one when I have a full belly. It's like a calming dessert.

Nice smoke
Liked the flavor but it smokes a little hot for me. My wife really liked the aroma, made the house smell great! I will be getting more!

pleasantly surprised
a fine tasting blend with a strong rum flavor and room note. Found that it looses it halfway through the bowl however. Nonetheless provided a good smoke.

Its just Ok But Worth A try.
The main things that stood out with this blend was it stayed well lit for about an hours worth of smoking time. I had to lite it maybe twice.. The tobacco is a little moist out of the tin which provided a hotter than normal smoke. Out of the tin aroma is quite pleasant but not much of that was coming through by taste or scent while smoking which is a pity. And most of all, the tongue bite is "almost" non exsitant. Perhaps if it were a little drier that might completely go away and with the way it is now probably wouldnt be too upsetting for older advanced smokers. Would i buy it again ? Probably not.

GREAT RUM
This is a very good smoke with a strong rum taste & smell. If you like it try Officer's Club also.

Too wet and too topped
WAAY to wet out of the tin, and doesn't really seem to fully dry out as much as you need it to. It has a great room not and is of a quality cut that is easy to pack, so in those respects it might not be bad for a beginner. Smokes hot and wet, though, and favors heavy topping over natural flavors.

SPS Barbados Rum
If you like Rum Tobys, the SPS Barbados Plantation can't be beat. It is way ahead of whatever is in second place lol!

Don't miss or overlook this exquisite blend
Pipe and cigar smoker for many years. Now just pipes and pipe tobacco and am I fortunate to have stumbled upon this wonderful blend. I just lit up a bowl full in a Rsndy Wiley and the tobacco is one of the best I've ever smoked in the last 50 years. I think even some non-aro smokers would like if not love Barbados Plantation. Dan

Hands Down The Best
I've smoked many rum flavored blends. Barbados Rum was the first tin I ever bought, and it is the best of the any rum flavored blends I've tried.

Best tasting & smelling tobacco on Earth.
If you like aromatics it just doesn't get better than this. As moist as it is, it's very even burning. It fills the whole house with the scent of rum. This blend is wife-friendly! The flavor is out of this world, and this is just the perfect smoke after a long, hard day's work. I'd rate the burn quality equal to Ole Shenandoah barrel 76, and the sweet flavor is in a class of its own. World class!
