Padilla has made some great cigars. One that was a favorite on P&C was the Padilla 1948. It was a flavorful medium-full cigar, but then it disappeared...
Rejoice, P&C Faithful, Padilla 1948 is back! This Nicaraguan puro has a gorgeous, tawny wrapper which conceals a bevy of Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo long-fillers. These gems feature a flavor profile with notes of cream, sweet spices, earth, hay and a bit of brown sugar, with a delightfully peppery finish. It's remarkably satisfying without overwhelming the palate. And they've come back right around the price they were when they were discontinued, so, by today's standards, they're a bargain. If you enjoyed them before, do your happy dance, and if you never tried Padilla 1948, what are you waiting for?
