How does Padilla do it?
Of all the boutique makers of cigars, Padilla always surprises us by producing great new blends at budget-friendly prices. The latest is Padilla La Terraza Connecticut, named for the Cuban village where Ernest Hemingway kept his boat docked. La Terraza sports a golden Connecticut Shade wrapper surrounding a nice collection of Nicaraguan long-fillers. With the richer Nicaraguan leaf, this is a Connecticut-wrapped cigar than falls solidly into the medium-bodied range. There are notes of leather, sweet wood, a bit of coffee and a nice hint of white pepper. This would be a bargain at $5 or more, but when you can get these boutique beauties for as little as $2.50 each, it's time to celebrate!
